Thibs is super stubborn to his detriment.

Should have had Okogie in there with Rose at point for that extra defensive effort. Okogie has gotten no burn after being a stud.

Again with the 9 man rotation when Okogie has been one of the top rookies in the NBA. Teague needs to be traded, if Thibs is so incessant about sticking to 9 men, Teague is the one that doesn't fit. His style of basketball is why we choked in the 3rd, playing Rose with either Teague or Tyus is an absolute defensive atrocity.. I'm sorry but he's gotta go. I'll take anything for him at this point

The good: Roco - just love his game. I love that this Wolves team has some fight in them. Loved seeing Dieng out there competing on defense,. Love DRose being able (when the offense is struggling) to make a play or draw a foul. Love seeing Karl playing with emotion and like that Wigs has upped his energy level (but he still has more work to do on that)
The bad: Teague. Teague. Teague. Roco took some bad 3 pt shots in the second half. Our offensive execution under 2 minutes left in the game. The Nuggets not respecting Tyus enough to even guard him in the 4th really reminded me of Rubio being unplayable late in the game during those Rick Adelman years.

I am not sure why Thibs is refusing to play Okogie. There are a ton of players who should be sitting on the bench and getting less minutes.

Unfortunately, he's a negative asset much like Dieng. He's got a player option for next year @19 mill and no way he turns that down, so teams will be asking for a first to take his contract off our hands if we want to move him.
Honestly, I think Teague is trying. He's a good teammate and puts in effort. Unfortunately the dude is limited with what he can do and his passing skills are extremely atrocious. Been saying he would be a decent 6th man, but Thibs won't do that considering he was the gem personally chosen to repalced Rubio and doing so would mean he's admitting he's once again, wrong.

Man, Teague just HATES Thibs. I think if Thibs stays beyond this year, Teague will opt out to not have to play for him anymore.
Jace frederick@JaceFrederick 1h1 hour ago Asked Jeff Teague if it was frustrating for the starters to not be able to close the deal after the bench rally.
Teague: "I told [Thibs] to leave them out there, but whatever."

Butler civil wars still being felt. Report from team Butler:
.- Teague. Jeff situation is more complex than JB saga. Rose put him in a lose-lose situation and JB demise makes him an awkward fit. This is a good player to have for most teams but this is not one of those teams. Too good of a pro to ask out immediately but he probably would like to be on a less of a rollercoaster squad. Showed strong preference for Jimmy staying and team first pieces getting minutes; showed discontent with rotations, minutes force fed.
.- Tolliver. He said he signed here to win. Also, he said the locker knew about who made what money. Accountability attached to cap number. He got DNPs to lesser players.
.- Okogie. Some stuff was published about JB getting to him early in the summer. Sympathy for playstyle or trying to increase his ranks but JB seemed like the tailored mentor. This case is more of a reach, probably Thibs just wants to have vets out there, enough experiments with rotations taking into account in season trades.
.- Taj and Rose. Both seem to be too loyal to Thibs to get out of ship and the latter also has some personal crusade going on.
Thibs is going hard with his bet and probably needs to make more changes to the roster. I still wouldn't put my eggs on an offensive C lead roster and would prefer to go with a guards and thugs squad, like most of the league but with the correct personnel around KAT they might have a slight chance to do something. IMO the young guys had too much appeasement, there are routines "forced" into their game that won't lead them naturally to winning basketball. When you see Marc and Conley it is all about surveillance, tic, tac, tic, a fissure there, punish. When you see KAT/Wig it is still about experiments about what works/what not. That's reasonable for a rookie, I guess.
On the broader I wouldn't put that much on Thibs shoulders. Expectations and all he is doing similar to other teams which are not playing their best talent the most minutes but force feeding their ceiling. This is always going to get people- good players- to play irked and sloppy. The game is not meant to favour projects but realities. Some will go JR Smith ballistic, some will go RoLo classy but all of them are getting the shaft, undeservingly.
Thibs is going to take his time, try to move Teague, try to salvage Okogie, unload Tolliver on some contender or bring him back to the party when/if the young guys get it going. Time is on his side but the bet is still based on unfairness and at some point Rose/Cov/Dario might not be able to sustain production.

Would you rather go against Collison, Rubio, Cory Joseph, George Hill (if he's cut), Beverley, and Rondo this offseason or Hill (assuming he's not cut), Tyler Johnson, Clarkson, Augustin, and Dragic next. Personally, if I'm his agent, I don't opt out. It'd be as dumb as Bazz not taking $10 mil per year. His best move is request and hope for a trade out of here.

Again, the 3rd quarter did them in. 35-18 in favor of the Nuggets in that quarter. I went back and watched it this morning to document what the hell happened. I know Teague is getting all the blame around here, but that's not what I saw. If I had to blame any one player, I would say that Wiggins' poor play contributed most to the Wolves pathetic 3rd quarter.
3rd:
• Teague takes charge right off the bat.
• RoCo gives it away
• Teague blocked at the rim
• Nice pass by Teague; KAT misses 3
• Wigs misses defensive rotation after RoCo points it out, and Gary Harris slams it down.
• Wigs comes back and misses bunny jumper from the baseline, over double-team
• Wigs gives up corner for reverse layup. KAT too slow on rotation.
• Wigs drives and misses layup…gives up corner to Milsap on other end immediately and fouls him.
• Teague pass to open KAT, who passes up the 3 and drives to hoop. Turnover.
• KAT turnover on next offensive possession.
• Teague is looking indecisive now. Doesn’t pass to KAT in key; waits for him to post-up, then feeds him.
• Wigs takes bad mid-range shot and misses.
• Sweet over-the-shoulder pass from KAT to Wigs for a 3-pointer!
• Taj double-teams Jokic to help Wigs and Kat is slow to rotate; Murray makes 3 and Nuggets take their first lead of the game.
• Teague feed to KAT in post; turnover.
• Milsap drives easily past Wigs for layup. 12-3 run for Nuggets.
• Teague assist to KAT for 3-pt make.
• Teague drives, collapses defense, and makes a nice assist to RoCo for 3-pt make.
• Milsap is eating KATs lunch on multiple possessions.
• KAT is frustrated and gets offensive foul when he clobbers Milsap, who is now bleeding.
• Saric and Rose come in. Rose/Teague pass leads to turnover, and Nuggets keep making 3’s.
• Nuggets go on a 16-2 run from 5:47 – 1:55 in 3rd quarter, when Taj and RoCo go out and Rose/Saric take their place.
• Wigs misses coverage on Morris, who sinks a 3. Nuggets up by 8 and in the bonus.
• Nice passing around the perimeter to a wide-open Wigs, who misses the 3.
• Rose misses open 3, Murray makes 3 on the other end over KAT.
• Gorgi come in for KAT. A lineup of Rose, Saric, Tyus, Gorgi, and Wigs.
• Wigs with another turnover at the rim.
• Wigs blocked at the rim by Plumlee.
• Saric makes a 3!
• Wigs finally makes a shot at the rim with 55 seconds left in 3rd and the Wolves begin their big run.

Why is Okogie not in there when we need a solid defensive presence? Dam is Thibs worthless. I do not get this. He is a defensive minded coach...right? Okogie seems to energize everyone when he comes in. He plays defense. He rebounds. Is Thibs stubborn with the 9-man rotation or him being a rookie? Not getting this.

I'm not sure he's going to get a deal that justifies walking away from $20 mil this offseason given the market next offseason is a bit more favorable (he's competing against fewer competent point guards as of now). The deal he gets in 2020 is probably going to be similar to 2019 in both length and years. He may hate Thibs but if he's fired in the offseason or if Teague's traded...
