Rose was fouled on that 3 pt shot but no call. Tough loss. Just 1 loss closer to Thibs being fired. It didn't need to be that way Glen Taylor. You could have done it a month ago. Yep. Sad but I dont care if they win or lose because each loss is a nail in Thibs coffin hopefully.

Fire Thibs. For paying top dollars for two Cs that get outscored and outplayed by two vet minimum players. If KG had Rod Strickland playing at DRose level and this collection of wings I severely doubt they would get equal results. But they paid two maxes and the most dominating stuff they got this season comes from a half hearted effort from a rebel and a guy on a minimum contract trying to get his body back.
System or not you need to create no-no zones. Either you can't score on me, you can't stop me, this or that won't work. Something. They try to create those situations but it is sooo artificial. Hint, if your player is not on the caliber to get that separation don't, don't, don't cater to him. It is OK to have Pek, just don't pay him 70% of a top big in the game, you want to throw him away at the first opportunity.
At least Wiggins is bringing sustained mediocrity but this team has to get away from offensive minded Cs (Big Al, Pek, Love and now KAT; the NBA has chewed some of those and the latter are on a hard place) . Who is playing an offensive C in the league-with defensive lapses and limited post up game- right now with success? Mostly efficient guys with a short leash and size to bruise in the paint. Maybe KAT is going to get things corrected but this hype thing is something special, let's see whether losing goes away from Love and his Cavs or Zach and his Bulls. Guys whose flaws were conveniently removed from the conversation. Hype, time lost.

4 losses where we were up after 3. That's now 28 in 2+ years for Thibs.
Our team play and our team defense wasn't that good but we shot really well.
Chandler/McGee is a nice center combo for LA...and it's a damn shame we didn't move Teague or someone to PHX to get Chandler for the season.
We are god awful at managing resources and managing the cap.

At some point it isn't Thibs, it isn't Flip. When the game is on the line you might impact the offense and the defense. This team is unable to get stops and even in the past success came from pretty strong starts- artificial stuff that wouldn't sustain under competitive scenarios such as postseason. They have more than enough firepower yet somehow it is all about execution. Nope, it is about 110+ points received too often and every single random dude getting production.

It is Thibs (the GM/regime) on the part of defense. It's "his guys" and Taj and Butler, who are supposed to be defensive aces, have generally regressed over the past couple of years. It's also Thibs (the coach) with the scheme in place that turns KAT into a matador. The "fit" on this roster is a mess. We don't have guys whose skills compliment and plug in the gaps of the best players on the roster.

They lost the game because they had very limited bench scoring. That was the game difference.

The "fit" on this roster is a mess. We don't have guys whose skills compliment and plug in the gaps of the best players on the roster. I'm convinced it's scheme. Over and over teams swing the ball around the perimeter and Wolves defenders are packed in around the lane. Then you see them wildly run out to the 3 pt shooter to defend but too late, the ball has been shot with a clean look and nothing but net.
Only 3.5 people block out on this team. Gibson, Okogie, Tolliver and partly KAT, when he wants to. Maybe others do but they don't get enough minutes for me to tell.

We don't have guys whose skills compliment and plug in the gaps of the best players on the roster. The counter would be that fit is only that important when your talent is not worth the ticket. Most teams still get production out of their "first swords" which also tend to be players that impose their will when needed. Wolves being generally toothless at some point should have us question whether it is a matter of the kind of talent developed and the inflexibility in the defense of such talent. IMO teams sometimes panic at the vision of a talentless roster and pay left and right. Then the issue is compounded as they have to play their mistakes, which also bothers the decent pieces, too. People might reach to challenge Jeff "I make playoffs on my sleep" Teague, Jimmy "MeToo" Butler and other guys who tend to bring their part. Something tells me this is not a "trade Christian Laettner" scenario but some players hiding flaws behind advanced and raw stats. LeBron, Davis, Giannis, Harden, Durant would at least translate pretty well regardless of the playbook, much of that playbook is still to exploit mismatches. Here people advocates for the PF who might be a weak side helper; of course such a player is rarely available but that's what happens when you get really heterodox. Is this a case of developing whatever gets in your hands instead of waiting for the right players or sorely needed changes in the playbook would bring a brighter future? Time will tell but when a franchise becomes a coachgrinder-including some not so slouchs- questions are legit. Your point makes sense and you are probably right, I am stubborn enough to think that some gaps are just unsurmountable in the NBA.

Thibs went all out to win tonight. Butler 43 minutes!! Wigs 41, Towns 39, Gibson and Rose 37. I thought KAT looked tired in the 2nd half. He was flying around on defense in the first half trying to protect the rim and rebound. I didn't realize everyone else played that much. Makes sense though. Josh O had a rough night, Tyus was awful again, AT looked lost on defense and then there was Dieng. I like G. I think he when he gets on a new team (away from Thibs) he has a chance to revert back to the G before Thibs and be serviceable.
