Credit to Sesquiculus at Canis for this: ---------------- If anyone is interested Jon Krawczynski did a Timberwolves preview with Nate Duncan. nateduncannba.com/podcast-archive/Highlights were: - He predicted 50 wins
- Best case 55 wins
- Worst case 37-39 wins
- The chemistry between KAT, Wiggins and Bulter "isn’t the greatest" but it isn’t anything than can’t be resolved with "honest conversation."
- He does believe that KAT will sign the extension but not signing it yet is his way "of being heard."
- He doesn’t think KAT will demand a trade anytime soon but maybe "down the road."
- Most likely in order to be on the Wolves in 2019-20: KAT, Wiggins, Thibs and Butler
- Wiggins’ contract is "not the easiest to move" but it is movable though he likely won’t bring anything back.

Do people really believe Butler will still be here? I know he loves Thibs but I don't see the Wolves hitting the afterburners and getting past the Warriors and to a certain degree Utah. I would think Butler may want to sign with a team that has that potential or as rumors have said join up with LA.

As a HUGE fan of the Dunc'd On Podcast, I actually thought this was a pretty weak team preview. Everything that Jon K said on the podcast is stuff he's said elsewhere, and there wasn't much offered in terms of on-court analysis. Basically, for people who follow the Wolves closely (as I believe many of us here do), there just wasn't anything interesting in the podcast.
As a comparison, for example, yesterday's Dunc'd On Podcast included the team preview for the Jazz, so David Locke (who started the entire Locked On podcast network, and is also the Utah Jazz radio analyst) was the guest. The conversation between Nate & David Locke was fascinating: thorough, insightful, transitioned seamlessly between on-court and off-court attributes of the Jazz. It was just really fantastic stuff.

I'm going to bet that if you'd been a big fan of the Jazz and listened to as much of their content as you do the Wolves....the stuff they had on Dunc'd on maybe wouldnt have been as eye opening... Jonny k is great. About as straight a shooter as you'll get. I think I'd actually be pissed if I heard him giving MORE information on a national broadcast then he gives on his own local pods and the Athletic.

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't mean this as a rag on Jon K. He absolutely is great. I feel fortunate that we have him as a beat reporter covering our fav basketball team. He is connected, unbiased, reputable - not much more one could ask for from a beat reporter. That said, Jonny's on-court analysis is only decent, and the main substance of this podcast was discussion and analysis of all the off-court goings-on. And that's stuff that I think everyone on this board would already know. There was some decent discussion about our rookies and their potential on-court impact, and that was about it. I actually think David Locke can be overly indulgent about the nerdery of advanced stats analysis, and sometimes that annoys the heck out of me. But Nate Duncan kept him grounded during the podcast previewing the Jazz season, and the discussion was just incredibly interesting. My only point is I think most here would find Jon K's appearance to cover a lot of stuff we already know, while also failing to deliver any new or interesting discussion of on-court stuff.
