Got to bring back the theme. I like NBC unless they put it behind a paywall on peacock or something.
*****
Comcast’s NBCUniversal is prepared to pay an average of about $2.5 billion a year to air a package of National Basketball Association games, as rival Warner Bros. Discovery makes last-ditch efforts to keep those rights, say people familiar with the situation. Warner’s TNT is one of the league’s oldest television partners and has paid an average fee of $1.2 billion under its current deal. Warner was unable to reach a new pact with the NBA before an exclusive negotiating window expired last week, which allowed NBC to make a bid. – via Wall Street Journal

Tim's going to swap Ant, and Leo for Cade and Duren?
The Pistons, I’m told, would naturally have interest in Timberwolves lead executive Tim Connelly in the event that Connelly was moved to use the opt-out clause in his Minnesota contract at season’s end. – via marcstein.substack.com

Looks like Porzingy missing some games. Too bad Jimmy Bones isn’t healthy, perhaps Heat could give them one last scare.
It will be an interesting dimension though moving forward, how salty are the C’s if he’s not 100 %.

Milwaukee is toast. Indiana is really putting it to them. I'm so tired of Doc Rivers. Indiana is a strong team so Ind-Boston would be great to see if it works out.

Honest to god anyone that hires Doc as thier coach deserves what they get. Just look at all the first time coaches that are great. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance and for coaching....maybe even a 3rd. But...Doc got a lot of mileage out of being lucky enough to have KG on his team.

I'm less certain about that. They're good, but not really close to great IMO. They didn't look great in games 4 and 5 with the Bucks missing so much talent. They just don't defend well enough and Haliburton hasn't been the same player since he injured his hamstring this season. I don't think there's too much chance they get past NY to even have the chance at Boston.

RIP Brian Windhorst. Another body to the narrative wars. How did Daryl get all these bozo's in his pocket. Clips are technically still playing lol. Also, PG, Ingram, Butler gonna go over to the NBA's most famous liar?

Don't overlook them.

NY got rid of what they dad to and got far more value in return. I hate the Knicks but I like them as a team for the first time since Ewing. It still pains me to look at Thibs. Power went to his head. He seems much more humbled now which is good. Brunson is a killer. Man he's good on some nights.

That illegal screen call on Indy with 12 sec left was horrible and they upheld it. I'm tired of refs deciding games.
I don't give a rip who wins the game. That call should be outlawed.

It was garbage. It was the "correct" call to the letter of the rule, but you don't make that call in that moment. They reviewed it and said it was technically correct I guess, but then they should have also called a flopping technical as Donte definitely technically flopped by the letter of the rule. You can call flopping and a foul so it the refs actually wanted to be technically correct it should have been a tech on Donte.
The Knicks get all this credit for playing so hard, but they're one of the worst flopping teams in the league spearheaded by Brunson.

Time to try an AI referee crew... it couldn't be much worse than the human zebras!

Time to try an AI referee crew... it couldn't be much worse than the human zebras! If Allen Iverson doesnt have time for practice, why would you want him officiating games? DOH!!

Well, he was a pretty good defender, so likely he would never call a foul on anybody else. But then again, he was an even better attacking player, so he might be blowing the whistle with every breath... who knows what you get!

It's dogshit that Murray didn't get a game suspension and only a $100k fine. Pure dogshit. We all know that if Ant or KAT did this they would be suspended a game.

The league does not want to be seen as influencing the series outcome. If the series was tied 1-1, maybe he would have gotten a suspension. At 2-0, if they suspend him and the team goes down 3-0, then the narrative would be the league handed MIN the series. Not entirely fair, I agree, but this is the world in which we live...

The league doesnt "outwardly" want to be seen as influencing a series outcome. So they'll stick to the under the covers method of using the officials. Honestly, I tend to agree with the league. Playoffs are not the same as regular season. Regardless of what the series is at the league probably decides the same thing. My guess is that Murray is on thin ice and will not get many benefits of the doubt from here on out in this series though. Thats the price to pay for not getting suspended.

Man, Jalen Brunson is an absolute killer. He can really fill it up. I'm impressed with the Knicks in how they've handled Indiana so far. Especially considering their injuries.
That trade with Toronto really solidified their team.

Dallas really threw one away tonight against OKC. Dallas was up most of the game but lost it at the end. They go 12-23 from the FT line to lose by 4. OKC was 23-24 from the line.
I liked OKC going in but you never know.
Dallas got 9 from Irving and only 18 from Luka. Both shot around 30% field. Series now tied at 2.

Cleveland got bounced rather unceremoniously last night by Boston. Cleveland is lucky they snuck it out vs Orlando in the first round because had they not, this Mitchell experiment would have been not just a failure, but a complete disaster. They've got some serious questions to answer regarding Mitchell's future now. I'd wager that they'll trade him, but could they get more value for Garland?
Also, the narratives should not be about how bad the Gobert trade was nationally anymore. The Mitchell trade AND the Durant trade were far worse trades.
Additionally, I'm kind of taking joy in watching the Thunder get beat by the Mavs. They've got a lot of winning coming up. Selfishly, I want the Wolves to make it further than the Thunder because I want my team to beat this young, upstart team. I think there will be a loooooong rivalry between the Thunder and Spurs brewing.

They struggled to put away a mediocre Cleveland team without Mitchell for 2 games and Allen and LaVert for the whole series.

I don't think they get past the Knicks. After watching Knicks and Pacers I think the fix is in for the Knicks to be in the Championship. I would hope that they let whomever is in the Championship play (and I hate conspiracy theories) but the Knicks winning it all would boost NY tremendously and being a gigantic market it would make them tons of money. A very very tiny part of me thinks the fix is in and would hate to see us get to the championship only to see it given to the Knicks.
