He'll probably be out with "general soreness".
What else?

If you're Wolves media, and you talk to Love pre-game, you have one goal tonight, get Love on record with the truth about how he broke his hand, especially if you're looking for hits, what better topic to finally nail down.
It'd be great fodder/content across the board.

I personally don't really care about the Jimmy drama, as I put that more on Thibs, and could care less about that team once we blew up our young core for the Timberbulls.

No one else cares anymore. It's a great story, and no question it would be a story in Minnesota sports. How many players in the history of the league can say they lied about breaking their hand, followed up with a hit piece on his own teammates to change the narrative, and the media worked extremely hard to bury on behalf of. Melo or Dwight do anything like this and it's covered correctly. Minnesota fans would be interested fo sho, def becomes a talking point among radio and pods if Love actually says on record what happened. Probably just a couple weeks, but it is a pretty big flash point in Minnesota sports history, and fans understanding of what that Woj piece is. It's not like he's going to take it in the media, it's just a matter of owning up to his role.

The only reason one wouldn't be interested in it, is if they grew a chin strap out, and had a buzzcut during that era in celebration of the original Pimento Loaf Legend, the Staypuft Matador.

Its a mostly forgotten blip in time that really doesn't matter in any greater scheme of things. I'll be honest. I'd still like to know the truth. Because, at the time, as a season ticket holder, I was really excited about the promise of that team. And when your best player goes down and ruins your season because of something he may or may not have done via an selfish idiotic act....yeah call me curious. I'm pretty sure that it was from him punching someone, but I dont know if it was his own personal trainer or if it was a member of the Vikings. I've said before to Dane that he and Britt should just do a pod during the summer (slow time) on all the dumb wolfsey things that have gone on with this team. From Knuckle Pushups to Monitors thrown through a window to KG behind the scenes to the curse of Jimmy Two Step (or whatever his name was). I'm 100% sure they know. They just probably cant say.

If you were a fan of the Wolves at the time, it's extremely interesting.
It was among the biggest stories in the NBA, and made us a laughing stock for the next decade. Not to mention the cloud that hung over us the following year, knowing Love was gone. The dude quit on that team in a way that makes D-Lo look like a hall of fame teammate, and because the media didn't like our gm, that story got buried.
Long over due for the truth on this one, and no question Minnesota sports fans would be interested when/if it finally comes out.
The point isn't to bash Love, it's much more a critique of Schwartz and Woj. In that situation I wouldn't put blame on a 20 year old kid, if those guys telling him he should do this, he's not going to know the difference.

I've been a Wolves fan since we were awarded a team and got to vote on the franchise name. But I find it hard to care about "oh man, maybe we could've squeaked in one more 1st round loss year ago"...

But I find it hard to care about "oh man, maybe we could've squeaked in one more 1st round loss year ago"... I say let the fans decide. Get it out there. I know Love fans would rather pretend it didn't happen but it's a huge deal this went down like this. Way bigger story than the Ant stuff.

Just curious because I think I was in 7th grade when the wolves came into existence and I remember the voting for a name thing (how did we do that, mail in? Call in? We've come a long way). Do you remember what some of the other options were?

Somehow it got whittled down to less than 20 which were voted on. Then it got down to two: the Timberwolves and the Polars. Then all the city councils in Minnesota voted and Timberwolves won.

I'm 100% sure they know. They just probably cant say. They can. It's like the Lo behind the scenes locker room stuff last year, there was way more going on than was covered. I thought the whole point of them having access was to cover this sort of thing. This was far and away the most interesting story of that era, and nada?!!! Happened over a decade ago, unless their worried about burning bridges with Jeff Schwartz, or Woj this should have come out by now. What purpose would Minnesota writers have for going along with this still?

Dane, and the younger beats maybe wouldn't, since they were not around, but if you were covering this team circa 2012-13 how would this story not interest you? It's our 30 for 30 episode. League wide fans and national media should have this convo, what the hell were Woj and Schwartz doing, and why target a processing team, that can't get free agents here anyway.
And while I think fans would have flipped out if K-baby is dealt, among the reasons we were in a bind is because if we had tried shopping him, like Deron Williams or, Holiday, guess who's breaking that story. Schwartz BOMB!
Unleash the Kraken!

www.nba.com/game/min-vs-mia-0022300353Miami Heat forward Kevin Love put it best. "We're chasing excellence," he said. Love was referring to Miami's championship quest but he could have also been referring to Miami's game Monday night against the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves, who have the best record in the Western Conference at 19-5. That's who the Heat will be chasing on Monday. The Timberwolves, 18-3 since a sluggish start, have not lost consecutive games all season, and they are coming off a 127-109 win over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. Karl-Anthony Towns scored a season-high 40 points on Saturday, making 15-of-25 shots from the floor, including 2-of-3 on 3-pointers. In addition, Towns also made 8-of-8 free throws, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished four assists, produced three steals and blocked two shots in 35 quality minutes. But teammate Anthony Edwards, who scored 37 points Saturday, said he was not blown away by Towns' latest performance. "It's not impressive to me - I'm used to seeing it," said Edwards, who leads the Timberwolves with a 24.2 scoring average. "He's always been efficient, doing everything he can to help us win." After Saturday's game, Pacers coach Rick Carlisle spoke about the Timberwolves in reverential tones. "They are one of the best teams on the planet," Carlisle said. "It's a good experience to battle those guys." Monday's game will be interesting for a variety of reasons, including a matchup between veteran point guards: Minnesota's Mike Conley Jr., 36; and Miami's Kyle Lowry, 37. They are each in their 16th NBA season. Conley leads Minnesota in assists (6.2). Lowry is third on the Heat in assists (4.2). Besides Conley, Edwards and Towns, Minnesota's other starters are defensive-minded Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels. In fact, Gobert is a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year. This season, he ranks fourth in the league in rebounds (12.0) and fifth in blocks (2.4). Minnesota's bench is led by Naz Reid, who backs up Towns and Gobert and produced 17 points on Saturday; and Kyle Anderson, a point forward who had 10 assists on Saturday. Meanwhile, Heat star Jimmy Butler - who played for Minnesota from 2017 to 2019 - is coming off a 28-point performance on Saturday night in Miami's 118-116 win over the Chicago Bulls. Butler also hit the game-winning shot on Saturday, a step-back jumper from about 18 feet. "Jimmy's the best closer in the game," Love said. Even so, it hasn't been an easy start to the season for the Heat, who are without two injured starters, Tyler Herro (ankle) and Bam Adebayo (hip). Both players are expected to return soon, perhaps even on Monday. "I don't want to jinx anything," Butler said. "I just want guys to get back, so we can all hoop together." While the Heat wait for Herro and Adebayo, Love has become more important. He scored 22 points on Saturday, making 6-of-10 on 3-pointers. Love, who also played for the Timberwolves, signed with Miami in February. Since then, he has made adjustments. "Last season, I was never quite on solid footing in our offense," Love said. "I was just doing whatever I could do to help us win. "Now, we're moving the ball, and my teammates are finding me. We're playing a beautiful brand of basketball." Said Butler of Love: "He's always trying to get everyone their touches. It's easy to play basketball when you're playing with someone like that."
