Kat's in!
I hope they don't take this one for granted.

Feels like could be a Thunder night early. Yep. Their defense has failed them. Rudy has had a bad night too. It happens. We are just off tonight. Mike Conley has been superb.

Their d mucked up our drive and kick, I think in playoffs teams can do the same against them, and hope like with Embiid, SGA gets less of those FOM free throws.
New conspiracy, Presti (The Riddler) is sandbagging Giddey’s minutes to be able to sign him for less. Maybe he’s not closing anyway, with Williams, SGA and shooters, but typically if you’re entering consolidation mode, you’re playing guys you’re hoping to move, trying to pump up value, not downplay.
Thunder will have to decide on who they’re paying eventually. I would try to buy low on him for sure, he’s not even starting can’t expect a first rounder for him.
Maybe OKC is willing to move him, but it would be unique to move someone to the bench and then deal him.

Cant be too upset about this one. Thunder couldnt miss. Our lack of D had something to do with that though. But we are going to have these kinds of nights. The big thing is if they will respond with a better effort on Thursday against Dallas. OKC is for real.
I will say that I hope Finchy sets Ant down and makes him watch this film and points out all the hero ball that went on. We need to see Jmac more. When he came in the ball moved around and we just couldnt hit shots. But it was night and day.

We need to see Jmac more. When he came in the ball moved around and we just couldnt hit shots. But it was night and day. It's true that the ball moves when JMac is in. It's a double edged sword though as part of the reason it moves is that JMac is a zero threat to do anything else with it. When he gets it, he's looking to pass it 95% of the time which by definition is going to boost ball movement. I'm not saying not to play him though. He should play in spurts. He'll come in and get the ball moving so that when others touch the ball, they're getting it after movement which is usually a good thing. There's also the increased pace that JMac brings. It's too bad he can't shoot a little better from 3 or was even a little bit of a threat in PnR. He's just so small.

Bad night. We didn't have it and they did leads to a lopsided game. Conley was really cooking from 3, but other than that, we didn't have it.
KAT looked slow. Maybe shouldn't have played against a team like OKC if he wasn't 100% with that knee.
Ant, Jaden, and Rudy didn't play that well.
Jaden's fouling continues to be an issue.
Naz has a good handle for a big, but it seems like that's gone a little too far. There seems to be a play or two each game now where Naz loses the ball when spinning or backing down someone in the post.

Not unexpected to have a bad game at end of road trip. But OKC is kind of team that will challenge their defense. At some point Finch needs to figure out a better strategy. I was kind of hoping KAT would sit out since OKC is a tough matchup for him. I’m kind of scared of them in the playoffs.

OKC can beat anyone when they shoot 46% from 3. How much of that is bad defense vs the NBA just having shooting variance being a main decider of games, idk. When Dort, Jalen Williams, Kenrich Williams, and Isiah Joe go a combined 13/18 from 3, what can you even do?
Feels like those are the games where we need another option than slow, half-court, defensive-focused game plan. Wish we had an option to turn to bombing 3s to keep up with them. Like if we had a Malik Beasley as our 11th man that we could bring in and chuck.

Some of it is two good teams, you're just not going to win everyone of those.
More than making or missing three's, what happened last night is they were able to drive and kick, we were not. Part of it is SGA is wearing the Tom Brady practice jersey, and we're deathly afraid of any accidental contact to him, even if he's driving into us. Fans can't be pissed about Embiid, and be okay when guards are getting the same whistle all game.
I believe we take them in a series. They have Chet, which is a pretty big boost they didn't have last year, but I believe we can pack the pain well enough to force them into tough shot generating.
Outside of Toronto and ATL, Wolves don't have a lot of bad losses. I would say this game was similar to Pels, and Sixers when SGA gets three fouls in his favor right out the gate, it just seems like it sets the tone of, okay this guy's going to live in the paint tonight, and on offense it felt a little like Haws and Toronto, where they're just taking away those drives (Ant specifically).

Which he'd then turn down. But Ant definitely could have been looking for Towns on some of those drives into 3 defenders.

I think the biggest challenge for Wolves O, is how do we break through when teams load up on Ant, which against Denver involved Ant on one wing, and Karl playing off the catch top of the key, or opposite break. From there just got to knock down three's, which we weren't doing well last night.
Or those could be scenarios we try Kat in the corner, and try to get Mike or NAW downhill with a screen up top opposite side from Ant.

It'd be great to have Micah do a pre-game talking O, in a game like last night.
