I wonder if the Thunder game showed teams the blueprint to beat us. Pack the paint until Ant, KAT, and Jaden can show they're able to make the right play without giving up the ball. This will be a real test to see if 1) Charlotte can execute a game plan like that and 2) how the Wolves can bounce back after a tough loss.

Chet is probably one of the big reasons they are a tough matchup for us. Ant can't just drive to the hoop at will like usual. If Conley makes 1 or 2 more of this threes we win that game - it was an outlier that he shot so poorly. Nonetheless, his poor game and now needing to sit out to rest make me think they may look at adding someone like Tyus to help MN Mike.

LaMello has been upgraded to PROBABLE. Ant is now QUESTIONABLE - Illness The late add questionable isn't a great sign although illness is something has more variability in how it could impact status. Hopefully Ant can go.

Hopefully Ant can go. The only positive if he was out would be to see if the ball swings more. Methinks it would.

I'm sure NAW will get one of the starting spots, but who would take the other? JMac? Kyle at the 3 and then NAW and Jaden play down?

That would help facilitate ball movement with the starters.

My guess is TBJ, as this would be one of those "break glass in case of emergency" games. I don't think you can have NAW, Kyle and Rudy start. That puts way too much pressure on KAT to shoulder the scoring. And I don't think NAW and McLaughlin are respected enough shooters to provide the needed gravity.

Will we blow another huge 4th qtr lead? Reverting back to what we used to be. Charlotte has made everything.

Towns no-call at the end.. I can't blame the refs for us falling apart, but that was terrible.

Towns no-call at the end.. I can't blame the refs for us falling apart, but that was terrible. It was an astonishingly bad no call. They have to be related to Tim Donaghy. Kat was fouled 3 times on tat drive.
Still hero ball mostly from Ant and horrible defense killed us in the 4th. Ant has to get his head out of his azz. He's been reading too many of his press clippings. He forces way too much.
Nonetheless, Charlotte made a ton of tough shots to their credit.

If there ever was a game that points to KATs "Empty stats"....this was it. Look, Towns had an incredible offensive game. But he didnt do squat on the defensive end. The rest of the team was clowning around celebrating. Where are the leaders on this team? Towns is going to make 50 million dollars next year. Finch even called him out a bit in the press conference that he's supposed to be a leader. Leaders keep thier teams focused on the goal. Not allow the team to celebrate and forget what the goal is. Ive said for a long time Towns is a huge talent but their is something missing. You could see it in his face towards the end. He was just about crying. And i dont think it was because his team was losing....I think it was because he wasnt going to be able to celebrate his record night.

Seems to me one of the issues was KAT got the ball way too much. Yes, he scored a lot but looking at the box score it looks like the ball was not spread out enough.

He got the ball the perfect amount. In the first half, when he was on fire and they were single-covering him, it was appropriate for him to go nuclear. In the 2nd half, when they started doubling, playing tight, etc, it would have behooved us to have him pass to open shooters and use his energy on defense instead of going for a scoring record over a W.

What an effing joke. 4th quarter offense ONCE AGAIN loses us the game. Unbelievable. My biggest takeaway was the poor defense. We couldn't stop the ball all game long. I'm sure guys like Dane Moore will over analyze this and talk all about how it's because Charlotte beat us with small ball. While there's some truth there, the bigger thing is that no one was stopping the ball. That includes Ant, Jaden, NAW, Kyle, etc. Those guys were just getting beat off the dribble by guys they would be guarding whether we're a big or small team. It was a bad defensive game by everyone and would have been if we were big or small.
The offense certainly didn't help in the 4th quarter. In general, the team showed it's immaturity by forcing KAT the ball in less advantageous situations repeatedly in the 2nd half. KAT being KAT obliged by forcing shots.

From our old Strib and TwolvesCentral buddy Casey Brewer:
The KAT conundrum in a nutshell.
Amazing offensive talent.
Completely unserious player.
I knew this was going to happen around the 38 pt mark for KAT. I knew he’d hunt for points. I knew he’d either cost the Wolves the game, or that it would be a nail biter for no goddamn reason.
This isn’t on the coach. This is on a team with a bunch of children getting swept up in their own frontrunner mythology when they haven’t accomplished a goddamned thing. It’s been brewing for weeks.
The Memphis win was nearly as bad. A total farce to give ANT his nationally televised cred. That Memphis team were essentially a D-league squad.
This team needs more grown ups. Mike has been the MVP this season along with Rudy. It shouldn’t be a necessity by now, but we could use a couple more old heads on this roster.
Our two other “stars” have been playing hot potato hero ball far more than any legit contender would dare. It’s just so predictable.
Endless talent but short on brains.

Endless talent but short on brains. From what I have read, it seems like a number of the players did not have their head in the game and took the night off. Hopefully the coaching staff gets them reset and focused. This kind of shows how impressive some teams have been over the years, not losing focus and keep on winning game after game. It is the end result, not the front runner status that should be the focus.
