Coming off back-back road blowouts of legit contenders. No time to let our foot off the gas against a lesser team.

I really hope we're not the team that walks with undeserving entitlement coming into this kind of game and that we've learned something from our last Portland loss.

Well, we tried hard to throw it away but NAW and Ant would let us. They were unbelievable the last 7 minutes. Reserves in with 3:30 to go.

Far too close of a game. Glad that Ant played. Sounds like Mike Conley had a lot to do with it. From the STrib:
After doing a pregame workout with David Hines, vice president of medical operations and performance, and putting a little heat on it, Edwards decided to give it a go after all. "I can't miss a game because of knee soreness," he said. "I got to be ready to go." But this came with a little prodding. Earlier in the day, point guard Mike Conley basically told him to toughen up. With a smile running across his face, the 36-year-old veteran point guard said he often gives Edwards little pep talks to tell him he's not really as tired or sore as he thinks he is. Tuesday was one of those days. "His hotel room is right next to mine and I saw him walking to his room and I said, 'You ain't limping, stop it and lock in, you've just got a little bruise.' "
In his first few seasons, Edwards struggled on the second night of back to backs, like in his second season, when he shot just 42% in those scenarios. But now, Edwards can show up to play, even when he might not feel like it. "He's still a kid at heart," Conley said. "He comes in and says, 'Man I'm tired I don't know if I can go,' and I've kind of got to give him a little speech and tell him, 'You're not tired' and then he'll be like, 'Yeah you're right, you're right.' "And then he just goes out and shows he can beat anyone off the dribble."
Edwards sounds like most singers I've worked with. "I dont know if I can do the gig...my voice is really tired". Me and the rest of the band after rolling our eyes: "Just go and give it your best shot and it'll work out". And 99% of the time it works out just fine and they sound great.

It sounds like it's the same knee tendinitis/tendinopathy that Ant dealt with a couple years ago. Ant earned his all-star selection this year so I want him to enjoy that, but the Wolves team hat wishes he'd sit out the game and get a week of rest. What a performance though by him. He started hot and sustained his aggressive play. Only a couple of assists, but had several kick out passes for open 3s only for teammates to miss. How big was NAW? Jeez, that guy is such a vital player. It became a blowout so we didn't need it, but in games where Jaden is struggling like he was and NAW was feeling it, NAW should probably close the game. Rudy is such a professional. He just shows up and does his thing every night. The consistency is so impressive. Kyle stringing good games together is so encouraging. I'll take this Kyle every night. Making plays. Avoiding mistakes. Putting in the shots he needs to in the lane.

I thought this was hilarious regarding the Wolves changing it up and choosing to play offense in front of their bench in 2nd halves as the road team:

It appears Morris did not contribute much from the box score. Was he a lock down defender in the game like he was on Harden?

It appears Morris did not contribute much from the box score. Was he a lock down defender in the game like he was on Harden? He played very good defense again. He’s a super smart player on both ends. I’m sure he won’t find his groove until after the ASB. He’s barely played this season, doesn’t know our plays (plus Finch is experimenting with him in various line-ups/roles) and it was a back-to-back with him clearly not in game shape yet.

Yes, we have to have a fair evaluation. That is why all I need to know is if he has contributed in some way. We needed a reliable back up to Conley and someone who could score.

I've been tough on Kyle lately and it's been justified but his play over the last two games has been solid. We need that guy every night.
Rudy, what more can you say?

NAW has been incredible. I still can't believe how well we made out in the trade to get Conley and NAW last year. Getting Conley would have been boon enough, but we also got NAW, AND 3 seconds. One of which turned into Leonard Miller. I'd say Tim Connelly has a knack for making something out of nothing (DLo ) But again, last night was another example of just how valuable NAW is to this team. I'd even venture to say he's been more important for the success of this team than Naz. The barrage of 3s at the start of the fourth was just incredible. He always seems to give us exactly what we need, when we need it.

NAW might be one of the best (if not the best) value contract in the league right now.

Wolves have a really solid 9 man rotation now, with great defenders off the bench. Finch will be able to play matchup games when the playoffs start. You couldn’t have drawn things up any better for how the season has gone. Now take care of Portland and get rested and refreshed over AS break for the stretch run. Lots of tough games left.

DLo helped their 2nd half resurgence last year and he’s doing it again this year after Ham finally figured out his rotations. And last night without LBJ he had 17 assists! Maybe he’s figuring out his game as a complementary player. Utah was the one that really got fleeced.

And last night without LBJ he had 17 assists! Maybe he’s figuring out his game as a complementary player. Utah was the one that really got fleeced. Maybe? DLo has routinely had these flashes of good offensive play, but the problem is that he caps the ceiling of a team. If the Lakers are relying on DLo's offense to win games now that's a problem as in the playoffs he'll be hunted relentlessly on defense. The LeBron Lakers success is defined by titles and I just don't see how a team with DLo as one of their top players gets there in the grind of the playoffs. See last year's playoffs. DLo helped get the Lakers in, but when they hit an actual team, DLo was just not close to good enough. Add in that LAL had to resign DLo to a deal that made him hard to trade. If they would have had Conley's expiring (and NAW plus 3 2nds), they probably could have gotten DeJounte Murray at the deadline this year. The reported holdup was Atlanta not wanting to take DLo's salary that's on the books for next year. I guess if you want to say that the Lakers trade sparked them to the playoffs in the first place, that's definitely fair. I think Conley could have done the same though. Conley would have fit so perfectly with them last year and NAW surely could have helped them as well. As far as Utah. They messed up for sure by allowing NAW into the deal. I believe they gave the Wolves some options for salary filler and we wanted NAW. Utah made NAW available because they were ok opening minutes for Ochai Agbachi and now they traded him anyway. That 2027 unprotected Lakers pick could be something though. LeBron will be gone and who knows what they'll have left at that point around AD.

I should say too, it looks like Scoot is starting to figure it out more too. He looked like he was taking things in stride much better than when we played Portland earlier. He was in a groove until Dalano Banton started the Dalano Banton show.

Did anyone see the part where Michael Grady and Jim Pete lost it? They were laughing at something and couldn't stop. Curious if anyone knows why.
