The officiating in the first quarter was awful, seems to have gotten somewhat better. Also, I still hate Rose.

The officiating is horrible. Cov out with knee soreness. How bad is that? It could be one of several things....all bad. A slight strain is the best so lets hope for that.
This is the last thing we need.

We were up by 6 with 2 min left and folded. Good D by Portland. It sucks.

Checks officiating crew, sees Courtney Kirkland, not surprised the officiating was suspect.
(for those who weren't paying attention, Kirkland tossed Gobert the other night and had that tiff with Shaun Livingston last year...he's not exactly a rock star ref)

A game we could and should have won. Terrible officiating at the end of the game. Jim Pete is still pretty good in this part pointing out the disparity of the calls.
How about that scoop play and put back by Okogie? Can't find it on youtube yet.

Coaching/Officiating lost this game for us. Tyus, Wiggins, Okogie, Saric, Towns was by far the best lineup we had out there but in cruch time...that lineup replaced with starters. Why, when your down 6 points with a minute to go, coach has Taj in instead of Saric (or even Tolliver) is just plain stupid. I'm hoping someone asked THibs that question afterwards. I swear the games we win are in spite of Thibs..not becuase of him.
And Thibs is just plainly an idiot for not finding time for Okogie. Its coaching malpractice. I said last year that if the Wolves would have had Donovan Mitchell on our team Thibs would have sat him. I stand by that after watching what he's doing to Okogie.

I don't think we lost because of referees. We played bad and couldn't not get a defensive rebound to safe the life. The only encouraging things were the play of AW and Okogi. It's nice to see Wiggins so engaged on both ends of the floor.

I started to hate him for this very reason in Jan 2017. He is so stubborn there is no original thought in his mind.
That lineup you mentioned is clearly the one I want out there in the last 3 minutes plus Rose or Covington when healthy. Teague in the last 3 minutes is a loss waiting to happen.
I really thought Rose was finished as many of us did. I'm turning into a big fan. He passes the ball a thousand times better than Teague.
I finally give up on Wiggins and he starts playing some decent ball. Un-blee-bull!

Just think how many more rebounds and hustle plays we get with those guys.
My latest punishment is to write on the chalkboard 100 times...
Levine, you were right on Jeff Teague!.......

It's nice to see Wiggins so engaged on both ends of the floor. The refs were really bad last night and cost us quite a few points. Did we "get" some calls? Sure. But a disproportionate amount of what we gave away on ticky tack calls. Essentially each one of those bad calls were turnovers that could have resulted in 2-3 points for us. That makes a difference in a game that was that close. I usually wont blame ref's but I am pointing the finger at this one. We need to do better...but they did us no help.

Refs usually do not help the road team, unless it is SA. We played badly. But had a chance to win it. But there were no horrible calls in the last two minutes. We stopped scoring on our own.

Consistency is key. I would eliminate all ticky-tack calls and let them play.

Consistency is key. I would eliminate all ticky-tack calls and let them play. I've said forever that one of the things I'd do to bring more parity to the league is to reduce "Star" calls. I know the league wants to make sure that the stars dont fall out and that they be "stars" in the games...but to me if they have that elite level talent...why help them even more by allowing a different set of rules. And per Vlads comment...the last 2 minutes werent an issue. It was all the time prior to that. Points matter in the end no matter when they come.

When Thibs subbed in JFT and Taj for Tyus and Jaric with 3-4 mins left I told my boys that we are now losing the game based on that substitution. He also took out OKG for Wiggins.
The team that was in there was just rolling, but Thibs sticks to his strict substitution patterns no matter what. Who in their right mind would think that the best group to close out that game was JFT, Rose, Wiggs, Taj and KAT??
Basically, he started Rose in place of Cov. What he should have done is started OKG in place of Cov, and kept Rose in his normal 6th man role. stupid, stupid, stupid

So he puts Taj, who I like, but not then and Teague! I'd rather see Rose or Jones. At least those guys can run an offense. You have to go Towns, Saric, Wigs, Okogie and Rose or Tyus. At that point they need defense and rebounding of which you get neither with Teague.
I hate that he sticks to things only because that's the way he's always done it.

I only was able to catch the last few minutes and just knew it was over despite being up by 4. So depressing to be able to see the future clearly but Thibs can't.
