Great first quarter for a change.
Disastrous second quarter

Just finished it. Ugh. 2 game losing streak. Half the team couldnt throw it in the ocean after the first quarter. Too many defensive lapses. Once again we cant handle early success. Although....last game we couldnt handle early failure.

What was Ant doing not taking a 3 with under 8 seconds to go? Did he forget we're down by 3? Kat or Ant has to take a 3 there. What am I missing?

It comes down to wolves offense getting clunky again. I think SloMo was saying something about Clippers doing heavy switching, but every team is figuring out that you jam up Ant and KAT. I’m not going to criticize since I think it’s a learning process for them and this is the first time going through it with good teams focusing on them. They’ve got a challenging schedule the rest of the way so hoping they come me out of it more prepared for the playoffs.

They lost with limited scoring from the bench. We had to get someone to score off the bench. And yes, it looks like they couldn't find anyone to make shots.

They really need to actually RUN some action to get Naz and others involved. Although I dont know if it woudl have made any difference tonight as cold as they all went.

I'm assuming finch said take a 2 if it's quick then foul immediately or we need a 3. Ant either lost track of the clock or didn't know exactly how much was left when the play started. Finch needs to draw up better out of bounds plays.

I wouldnt be so quick to blame Finchy. In listening to Danes pod Monday with Chris Hine, they said that Finch said, in the presser aftewards, that he called for a 3 or a "quick" 2. Ant more or less said in HIS after game presser that he just did what he wanted...which was try to win the game. They went on the discuss the tricky nature of listening to your coach but also trying to let super talented players like Ant have options. The long and the short of it in the end was that they thought that giving Ant options maybe isnt good. That it should have been "get a quick 2". or "get a 3".

The long and the short of it in the end was that they thought that giving Ant options maybe isnt good. That it should have been "get a quick 2". or "get a 3". I put it solely on finch. A great coach says this is what we're running because I believe you'll execute and you guys believe I know what I'm doing. so if finch called what he says he did, he basically didn't call a real play. He said inbound the ball and take what the defense gives you. Of course, the clips are going to guard the 3 point line. Finch should have drawn up a play that gets a quick 2. You know, a play that has the inbounder passing the ball towards the hoop. The clips aren't going to foul in the scenario, so it's basically a lay up line. Then, foul and see how many free throws they make. Go from there. Instead finch did what he did and the outcome was that happened was likely - they wasted too much time trying to get a 3 and never gave themselves a chance to win. Finch needs to be decisive.
