How the F would it be a foul to have Beal come fly in from behind like that?!! I hate that little 5'3' white guy official. He seems in love with himself. Terrible official.

We need to replace Nick Universe in MOA with NAW Island, and maybe rename Saint Paul.

Conley played as badly as he can and we overcame.
The low-key story of the game may be Gobert’s perimeter defense. If he can continue doing that, it unlocks our entire defense.

What a fun game. The crowd was just something else and was into it for every possession. To get the crowd warmed up, they played an intro on the big screen, and there was nothing special about it. But you could tell the crowd was ready to cheer the team on. I'd really recommend people try to make a playoff game if they can afford it, because there is nothing that compares to it. Regular season games dont compare. There is a feeling of living and dying with each possession that isnt there with regular season games. What a fun time. For the record, I'm 15-0. Wolves should pay me to be at each playoff game.

That was one of the best games we've played all year. What adjustments do the Sun's make for game 2? We 14 turnovers which was one of the few negatives. Ant had 6.
The great stat was we had 52 boards (13 offensive) to their 28 total.

I was there as well and I agree. It was just and awesome environment. Devin Booker is probably hearing the DE-FENSE chant in his sleep.

KAT starting out on Durant. This is what I wanted and I think it worked well. KD isolating on KAT lead to basically 1 thing, KD midrange shots. He's a fabulous shooter, but it kind of destroys ball movement and team basketball. I'll live with KD getting 30-35 points on midrange heavy shots. He doesn't really get all the way to the rim and KAT can match his size so it leaves him just taking tough contested shots. More importantly, it allows us to matchup Ant on Beal. Holding Beal in check AND still being able to keep Jaden or NAW on Booker the entire game was huge. Additionally, Conley shadowing Allen kept him from getting open looks.
KAT didn't guard him the whole time, but while he did (and Naz) it worked well enough to show it can be a viable strategy going forward. Hopefully Kyle isn't out an extended period of time. Hip pointers can be really painful and I doubt he plays Tuesday, but hopefully he'll return this series. We could really miss Kyle's D especially if Jaden gets into foul trouble.

That possession where he guarded Booker in the corner was really good even though Booker eventually got by him and made a really hard reverse layup. Someone should have come over to help on that, but Rudy did his job.
The poke away on KD in the 4th that led to the Ant breakaway dunk was just great. It was the final scene of game that couldn't have gone better.

Yeah, didn't like him one bit. I will always try to give the refs the benefit of the doubt, but being there, the guy was just bad. Completely inconsistent. The first quarter they wouldn't call anything (#46 in particular) and then they turned on a dime and called tons of fouls in the 2nd quarter.

I love how Finch has gone into no nonsense mode for the playoffs. The second someone didn’t rotate to give up open 3 he calls time out. That’s why KAT didn’t play much in second half. He’s not playing politics just going for the win with 2 hands.

Plus the 4th quarter was essentially extended garbage time.

I think the biggest thing I took away from the game is how well everyone and everything seemed to click, especially in the second half. It was apparent early on that the defense was there. They forced everyone on Phoenix into tough shots all game. Their guys are going to make some of those, that's a given. That's the benefit of having pure hoopers on your team. But when you can completely neutralize Booker, Beal, and Allen, you're going to win, and win big. I don't think it's a bad strategy to let KD get his buckets as long as Booker and Beal don't hurt you.
Our offense was fantastic as well. Nobody forced anything. Mike had a rough game, but that's fine. He'll bounce back. What I was more interested in was how KAT was going to come out. He played about as flawless of a first half as you could ask for. Rudy was excellent. Ant figured it out in the second half. But the person that I think deserved the most flowers was Nickeil Alexander-Walker. I mean, good grief, he was the best player on the floor in the first half. He was everywhere on defense, hitting his shots on offense, and was a sparkplug all game. It's very much an argument as to who the best bench player on our team is between he and Naz. NAW is incredible and I can't believe just how good he's become after being a bust everywhere else. Our bench is far superior to Phoenix, and that's going to be massive in keeping our stars rested. Phoenix's bench was horrendous. They may win this series against us, but KD, Book, and Beal will be dogged by the Conference Finals.
I feel so good about how this series is going to play out. Target Center was electric. This is going to be so fun from here on out. I'm pumped to see how Phoenix's strategy changes going into Game 2. Vogel's an awesome coach and Ant picked apart their defense so well in the second half. Wolves could not be anymore back. AWOOOOOO

Not sure who got to ANT but after one dumb turnover it stopped. That was a major factor and opposite of that was the sweet dimes to the open NAW and Reid for a wide open 3. We hit our 3's since the Suns were so focused on Ant. But overall a great game by the Wolves. Let Durant get his midrange 2's all day long. That isn't going to beat us. Booker going off for 30+ is going to beat us. Beal getting hot shooting the 3 is going to beat us. Grayson Allen shooting the three is going to beat us. Another factor is the Ref's really didn't give Booker the calls he would typically get so he stopped driving to the rim. Grayson going down also really hurt Phoenix. I'm curious if he will be out for a few games or none at all.

Not sure who got to ANT but after one dumb turnover it stopped. It was one dumb quarter. 4 turnovers, an offensive foul and a defensive foul when he grabbed the Sun that turned him over. He was determined to keep driving 1 on 3 like he was doing in the previous 3 games. But then something special happened.

So glad I watched the game. It was between this game or the Twins. And well, I switched over and watched. ANT really took this game over. KAT looked slow and not ready for the game at first. But, he came around eventually. Rudy is the DPOY, hands down.
And throw in some decent bench scoring. Even the Refs couldn't help Phoenix and they certainly started off trying to do that. ANT gets mugged no call, small touch with a hand by our player... whistle.

Man, what a game. Kat Man was outstanding. We get locked in Kat we'll go far. As Ant said he played a clean game, and we've seen him do it before.
The key to taking away Allen (aside from injury) is the same as its is mucking up our spacers. Cutting off the drives, which Wolves did very well. IMO that's always much more important than the chase from Minnesota Mike.
Over a series it seems like Wolves should be able to cut off/make difficult the drive and kick more consistently than Suns.
Hopefully Kyle can get right if not for game two the back half of the series. There will be a game where Book or someone goes bananas, likely coinciding with some quick fouls on one or more of our defenders, but a lot to like here. Should be a fun series. Hopefully Kat has some dominant games. Which doesn't just mean points! A lot of his best games are closer to those more balanced TD box scores, than dropping points.
NBA players voting Rudy as most overrated should be good ammo. It's insane for them to think that, but also what most fans would say, based on everyone wants the AAU iso crap, but it makes sense when every promo every, or highlight is a guy making shots. So even watching a Warriors highlight real over the years, they're not showing the Steph turnovers, and crap defense, or games he's like 3 for 12. They're showing the makes, which is probably why most fans only see O. Much easier to see/measure a make or miss, but Rudy stripping KD there is what dreams are made of. He's a big time winner, and you don't know ball/life if you can't grasp that.
