Amazing what happens when Taj and Rose are not in the game.

Tyus having a real nice game. 10 points on 5/6, 7 assists, no turnovers. And he's had, I think, 4 really nice floaters drop..

Looks like the entire team except for the former bulls played really well and sadly to a not very full arena.

KAT with the efficient 14 point, 14 rebound, 3 assists, 3 block game in only 21 minutes.
Okogie actually 2nd on the team in minutes.

Remember when JimPete used to be good and not just a Thibs apologist?
Now he says Okogie needs to play and we need his energy, but he also understands Thibs only liking a 9 man rotation, so he's "resigned" to only seeing Okogie as an injury replacement player this year....

That 9 man rotation thing is just so stubborn. Houston is playing 9 this year, but that seems to be out of necessity as they don't have enough talent. Most play 10 or more. No one is asking to force feed anyone minutes who doesn't deserve them, but Okogie has earned them.

I thought Tyus and Okogie were amazing tonight. Tyus just was seeing everything a step ahead and Okogie was active as usual and had some nice passes to G.

How the hell does Okogie land on his feet after this dunk?

I think Okogie will be earning himself more minutes. Thibs does want to win and you play the guys that give you the best chance to win. I'm so used to our crappy selections late in the first round, I have no idea how we found someone that looks like a steal. I'm tickled.
And we played fantastic last night. I wish we could learn to play that way on the road. The Phoenix game was as ugly as this was pretty.

How the hell does Okogie land on his feet after this dunk? Agreed! When he went horizontal hanging onto the rim, I thought, "Uh oh, he's going to land bad and get hurt." He's like a frigging cat, coming down on his feet and one hand, or should I say paw.

Tough team to figure out. Sometimes they look like world-beaters and other times I'm hoping that they start tanking to try and get a good lotto pick.

10-7 since the trade, outscoring teams by 5.8 PPG over those 17 games. Outside of the Kings/Suns/Grizzlies games, we've pretty much been in each of the other losses.
We still have issues (point guard play in general) but that was a needed and noted win.
We're probably going to yo-yo with hot streaks and absolute crap play this year.

If Thibs keeps playing him and bringing him along instead of playing Rose all the effing time we are going to have a great started next year for the SG position. Covington as SF, Saric as the PF and KAT. We need that true PG who can run the floor and dish out the ball. I think Tyus will do a solid job of this and would probably see if Bayless will sign on as the backup (if he's healthy).

This really isn't that hard but of course it is with Thibs. Teague or Rose should be shipped out for the best asset return we could get which in Teagues case is likely an expiring contract of some sort and for Rose a 2nd rounder possibly and Okogie moves into the rotation.

IMO, a Tyus/Okogie/Covington/Saric/KAT line-up would run a lot of teams out of the gym.
A good coach would have at least one of RoCo and Okogie on the floor at all times. Especially if Teague or Rose is in the game.
KAT and Saric may be the most important 2-man tandem we have. Too bad Thibs can't see that. One problem is you can't play Taj and Dieng together. At all. We'd be a better team if Saric started and we had Deing and Tolly in the rotation instead of Taj. I'd trade Taj to a playoff team for an expiring contract and a 2nd round pick in a heartbeat.

I suspect that as well. And I think there was a chilling effect on analysts in general after seeing Bruce Bowen essentially fired for criticizing the way Kawhi Leonard handled his situation in San Antonio.

I still think he'd contemplate walking from the Wolves since he doesn't like Thibs and he could secure a deal similar in total dollars over 2-3 years compared to what he is giving up next year but that's still a long shot. I could see a team taking him back if it's for a limited asset and they are PG needy. The Suns and Magic are the obvious contenders but it would likely be a stretch still.
