Teague is not likely expiring until next year. Its a very strong PG class and I don't see him gambling 19M. Agree. I still think he'd contemplate walking from the Wolves since he doesn't like Thibs and he could secure a deal similar in total dollars over 2-3 years compared to what he is giving up next year but that's still a long shot. I could see a team taking him back if it's for a limited asset and they are PG needy. The Suns and Magic are the obvious contenders but it would likely be a stretch still. Right, we've been discussing this in the "Next year's PG" thread. My take is: 1. If Thibs is gone, Teague will absolutely opt in. 2. If Thibs is here, Teague will likely opt out. 3. I've seen nothing to make me think Thibs is even considering trading Teague.

And my initial hope from the summer/earlier season was that Teague could see a 3/30M offer but I think that's pretty unlikely at this point. He's probably looking at maybe 3 for $25M or less if he were to forego his last season and in that case, he likely just needs a 1 year deal from someone after his option is picked up to not be sacrificing any long term salary. Even more likely if he were to rip up his contract is he is staring at contracts in the 2 year for 15-16M range or whatever MLE provides. That's probably too much of a sacrifice for a guy who never was paid huge money. But, maybe his disdain fuels him like Crawford.

The difference with Crawford is he gave up 4.5M to eventually sign for 2.5M. Not that big of a difference, and i also think he expected there to be more of a market for his services.

Teague's probably not going to get that back in this FA market no matter how much we wish it given how much his play has cratered this year. He'd probably be lucky to land MLE money in a multi-year deal or a short term (1 or 2 at $10 mil per) deal. Not sure if walking away from $19 mil next year is worth him getting 3 years/$25 mil next year when he can probably get that in 2020. He may hate Thibs a lot but that's a LOT of money to walk away from...and I'm not sure he's going to be sniffing more than $10 mil.
