Dane Moore@DaneMooreNBA Jeff Teague -- QUESTIONABLE Derrick Rose -- DOUBTFULL Robert Covington -- OUT
Was surprised Covington already marked OUT. My guess is that this could signal an extended absence.
----------------
Jon Krawczynski@JonKrawczynski Robert Covington remains out with knee and ankle soreness. Rose doubtful, Teague questionable for Magic tomorrow

Maybe Covington has figured out that he has to "milk" it a bit to get the rest he needs to get better. Most coaches would limit a player when coming back from injury but not Thibs.
"Ooowww....still hurts. Cant play".

If Covington healing helps Thibs move closer to the door I'm all for it. Win win.

Tom Thibodeau announced today that Robert Covington, who missed Wednesday’s game in Boston, will be out for an “extended period” with a bone bruise. What an extended period is was not made clear, but the Wolves will be without their top two-way wing for the foreseeable future.

Teague back in the starting lineup tonight after being out extended time with injury, Thibs will be sure to play him 35+ mins tonight, and keep Tyus around 15

It won't happen but I'd like to see Teague and Tyus split the minutes at 24 each. I don't think you'd get any complaint from Teague either.
I'm still curious to see if Luol Deng has anything left. Can he play some 3 in a pinch?
I'd like to see Saric start but that won't happen either.
Teague, Okogie, Wiggins, Taj, and KAT tonight I suppose.

If he could (or if Thibs thought he could), Tolliver wouldn't have played 25 minutes against Boston's wings....

Boy has Laettner really grown up. Nice interview with Marnie Gellner.

Boy has Laettner really grown up. Nice interview with Marnie Gellner. It sure was. L8 was with his buddy Sol Brandys who I've know for years. He's a zany fun guy. Those two are magic together. Sol has a cabin on Lake of the Woods and those two spend countless hours together fishing huge muskies. Sol was the strength and conditioning coach for the Wolves for 15 years. The stories he's told....most I can't repeat. :)

I don't understand why our first halves go so poorly lately, yet we rally like crazy later in the game. I understand teams take time to find their rhythm but man, we can't constantly bury ourselves in the 1st half and expect positive long term results, especially since we can't guard the 3 and not every team is gonna go full Bird Box mode with their shooting like Orlando did tonight. I'm glad we won but man.. I can't help but feel a little picky.

That was a fun game. I thought their goose was cooked, but they somehow mounted a nice comeback. Great game by Teague! 23 pts on 80% shooting, with 10 dimes, and I thought he looked very decisive in his decision-making. Maybe he was just more hurt than anybody knew. He looked a lot more like last-years' Teague.
We need RoCo back. Okogie is in a little over his head. He still hustles and makes some plays, but he's definitely looking like a rookie out there.
Wiggins. Meh. some points...no rebounds...pretty bad defense...a few assists. Typical Wiggins stat line.

One of the Wolves asst coaches did the 1/2 time interview and was asked something like "why do we start out with such low energy? What do the coaches do about that?" He said....it's the players responsibility to be ready to play. Period. That's why they're professionals and make the big bucks.
What!? No Knute Rockne, win one for the gipper speech to fire them up before games?? Astonishing to me. As coaches, you got to do what you have to do.
Worse than that.... Thibs once said, paraphrasing, we go over some film with them but mostly we send film for them to look at in their off hours. Kind of like homework assignments. WTF is that? I was astonished! Sure, they get home and ask themselves, do I want to play video games and bang a few chicks or watch some film that I don't understand anyway? No wonder we play defense like we do.
I HATE this coaching staff!!
