It seems pretty certain Hoiberg is coming back to our front office. I have a question. Apparently he has 3 years 15 million still owed by the Bulls.
How does him coming here effect that? Don't you lose that going to another nba team?
Does that make it more likely he's our HC next year?
----------------------
Nick Friedell: Hoiberg still has three years and almost $15 million remaining on the original deal he signed with the Bulls two summers ago.

Yea, I was wondering if front office exec salaries get negotiated down like players off the waiver wire... if they’re still getting paid by a former team.

He is paid a coaching contract by CHI. MIN would be hiring him as POBO. Nice double dipping if that technicality allows it.
I don't like the idea of bringing this guy in, especially as HC. He was offered this job before and he turned it down for CHI where he flamed out... I guess failure in CHI qualifies just about anybody for a second chance in MIN!

Let's face it, no man alive could win the the injured talentless Bulls. Except Zach of course.

A couple of Big 12 Championships, but one of the worst defensive teams in the country, despite having a roster full of long, athletic players. 1st round exit to 14th seeded UAB, in his last game there. I loved Freddie the player, but nothing he's done post playing carer inspires confidence. Rumor was that when he was Assistant GM, he was the lone voice against the Love/Mayo trade.

He was also part of Kahn's exec/scout team that passed on Curry for Rubio and Flynn. I like Fred and have hope (maybe irrational) that if he coached he would bring a more modern offense to our team since he was a 3 point shooter himself. Don't know about his GM potential.

In his first year, the Bulls were 3rd in 3PT%, but 24th in attempts. In his 2nd year the Bulls were 24th in 3PT% and 29th in attempts. In his 3rd year the Bulls were 21st in 3PT% and 6th in attempts. In his 2nd year the Bulls were 21st in 3PT% and 25th in attempts. So in one year they shot a bunch - although oddly not in the year they were actually OK at hitting them...

I think you're right on that. He didn't coach defense well plus I believe he wanted Jonny Flynn over Steph! I didn't know about the Love/Mayo deal.
When they passed on Kevin Love in that draft I felt the same way I did when they passed on Steph Curry. Devastated. Jamal Murray too, to a lesser degree.

I have no idea what to make of your guy, Murray. He's actually playing some defense this year, but he can't shoot...

I thought he'd be 40% from 3 for sure. Plus the guy has the ability to take over games late. I love that. He'll come around. Harris is a hell of a player too. I'd love that backcourt for us. I knew Harris would be good but not that good. He never seems to hurt you.

He shot the ball well last year, but not in years 1 or 3 (so far).

That God for this. Go to UCLA and save Obama from himself (But it would be nice to see Walton make a fool of himself again).
