I'll preface everything by saying that this is gut, not rumor-based but past "Wolves" tendencies as it's pretty clear the Wolves in a hybrid "Country Club" era of "how" decisions are announced out (things are quiet and then boom). I'm probably wrong on a chunk of this so don't flame me but these are just thoughts on how the season goes from now until year end.
I think the Wolves are going to make a strong push to change/tweak organizational culture between now and season's end - I think you're going to see some trades and movement with the roster. Potentially a fair amount but I think a trade or two in the next month seems at least 50-50.
Given what happened with Rose yesterday (the "kill yourself" comments), I think the Wolves are going to look to shop him at the deadline. I think the odds of a deal are better than 50-50 given he's having a good year. I think Rose may be paired up with another player (ideally Dieng, possibly Taj) and shipped to the East for a big man in return. Watch Charlotte (Biyombo or Marvin Williams) or Washington (Mahinmi) with a pick of some sort tied to that coming back to us...possibly protected first, probably a couple of second rounders.
Tolliver may be dealt as well. If the two-for-one with Rose goes down, he might stick as a spare big until season's end. If not, he probably will be waived shortly after the deadline.
Teague is likely staying.
Watch the organization's words and actions with Wiggins...and watch Wiggins' play the next 3 weeks. I don't think he will be dealt. However, if Wiggins spins his wheels with 17-3-3 numbers and 40% shooting (like much of the season) and looks like he doesn't give a damn...and if the organization is not on a PR push to encourage "a new relationship" or "better relationship" between Wiggins and Ryan, the Wolves may quietly sniff the market to see what's available and his name may pop into rumor mill. The odds of a deal are really low (10%?) but I think if the Wolves put the PR gloss on Wiggins, it's clear they're committed to him. If it's quiet like it was with Thibs the past couple of months and Wiggins isn't doing much of anything, they may sniff the market. Again, perhaps Charlotte (and maybe it's part of the Rose deal) as a potential landing spot. Another thought is Memphis given they need an athletic and younger wing. The Knicks might also be someone to look at (Dolan). I think any Wiggins trade, if it happens, probably is with an old school or poorly run team (that's why the Knicks were included). We probably will not get much coming back if a trade is made...which is probably why the Wolves don't but I do think they will tire kick with the idea.
Ryan will be given every chance to win the job (no surprise) and I'd put his odds at keeping the job next season at 60% (Ryan's going to be cheap and I think Taylor's hoping Ryan can fulfill the role). The only way he doesn't is if you see something like Kaleb Canales type numbers or Kevin Pritchard (both POR a few years ago) where the team just craters under Ryan. I don't see that happening but if it does, they will likely go outside the organization (perhaps Hoiberg, perhaps Joerger).
The Wolves probably end up near or just above .500. It may be enough for 8th but probably not.
If Hoiberg wants the POBO job, he gets it. He may state publicly he wants to coach but I think Taylor will give him an open door to take the POBO job or if Ryan flops, the head coach gig. Layden probably stays in the organization for a while.
