Fun game. Wiggins was special. Teague can't lose his cool and get ejected while DRose is out and leave Tyus out there by himself. Teague needs to be smarter. No. We win this game with Teague out. 50/50 if he's in the game. Tyus is really a steady leader out there for the team and the turnovers he generated were key.

True justice that we win this one. Great effort all around. We shot 14 more free throws than they did. All 4 of our bench players played over 20 minutes! Amazing.
What a breath of fresh air. The kid handled it like a veteran coach.

Drew developing a bit of an edge?
Wiggins on Schroder: "I don't know what's wrong with him. He was acting crazy for no reason. I look right through him. He's not someone I look at as a problem. Not at all."

Jon Krawczynski@JonKrawczynski KAT: "He showed his whole coaching repertoire tonight. ... He stayed as composed as anybody tonight. Gave us positive energy. Kept telling us to fight and kept making the right moves. He was playing chess the whole night and came out w/checkmate."

Why can't we even get half this Wiggins every night? Yep. I was thinking the same thing. FYI - rest of the team outside of KAT+Wiggins shot 36%. This was a nice win despite the supporting cast not lighting the world on fire.

Now that's something you never would have seen with Thibs at the helm. I'm so excited about this team again!

Great recognizing Taj was having a terrible night and played more Saric. Wiggins had 38 minutes but he also was the hot hand. I am hoping to see Saric starting instead of Taj and Tyus starting in place of Teague in the next couple of weeks. They are the future and should be treated as such. Rose, Okogie, Taj, Dieng and Teague off the bench should be the norm. I don't think many benches can keep up with that.

In Saunders’ post game comments, he gave credit to veterans on the bench (Rose, Bayless and Dieng) who didn’t play but offered game suggestions. Just calling them out for their contributions w/o any of them seeing even a minute of game play between them spoke volumes to me. I hope the team culture change will impact the team’s play on the court.

A less secure person would want to claim every good decision.

This was a nice win despite the supporting cast not lighting the world on fire. It's very obvious that Wiggins play has been negatively affected by how he was used. Put that all on the coach. The coach moves the chess pieces. Wigs drove to the basket far more than he ever did with Thibs. That was Flip's thing. Ryan brought it back. With Wigs as a drive threat players backed off somewhat which opened up his shot. It was all good. With Towns out Wigs was finally "the man" and was asked to carry the team and he did.
It's far too early to get carried away with his last game but we know he has it in him.
I loved the Wigs dish to Okogie for the 3 that he made at the end of the game. That was a gutsy call by Ryan. Everybody thought Wigs was going to take that shot. Great moment for Josh.

Taylor seems to believe that we have the talent to be a contender and is expecting success now, not the future. Canis Hoopus has a write up on this today: www.canishoopus.com/2019/1/9/18175309/the-more-things-change-can-the-wolves-overhaul-their-process-minnesota-timberwolves-nbaI know it's not what people want to hear, but that's the truth. We're a lot further away than most people think. We don't want to end up like New Orleans.

We're a lot further away than most people think. We don't want to end up like New Orleans. I think we are a really good PG away. Okogie is a defending stud right now and while a rookie looks to have a good outside shot. If (big if) we get the Wiggins of last night to play like that, along with KAT we have a nice solid core. Covington and Saric learning the coaches system I'm comfortable with the team. Time to move Taj, Teague and Rose. Tolliver came in and shot the three. Also with Thibs gone I would reach out to Rubio and see if he wants to rejoin the Wolves and help win a few championships.

I think it might be a little more complicated. Wigs used to attempt to drive under Thibs, but the lanes were clogged more often. I think there was a different positioning of players that opened the path a little last night. That or plays run designed to get him a clearer lane to the basket. He still got stopped a few times because he did the weak lay in instead of the slam he should have made. BTW, I think the damage to Noel was from his head slamming the floor, not from wig's elbow.

He's shooting 24% from 3. That's nowhere near good or looks to have good. We're down below Kris Dunn territory... www.basketball-reference.com/players/o/okogijo01.htmlOkogie will probably right the ship to a degree but this is something that he really has to work on...you can't make a living in the NBA as a non-big and suck from 3 unless you're 6'10" and have god-like passing skills.

Its not just the 3. He's been bad from everywhere outside of 3 feet. He's a good enough FT shooter that I think he can eventually become a decent to good overall shooter, but he's an incredibly raw offensive player that needs a lot of development. His 2 point shooting was a red flag going into the draft. I really hope we spend the money on a good shooting coach. We have a number of players that could really benefit from it.

Key Sang@Phantele_ Finally got time to look at the gameflow from last night and wow, it's entirely unlike anything from the past 2 years. Saunders never made a single block substitution that Thibs made all the time. He staggered guys one at a time in looking for what worked then stuck with what did Key Sang@Phantele_ Takeaways - Saunders subbed guys in based on what was happening on the floor, the antithesis of Thibs who subbed based entirely on the clock - The Wolves didn't make a dent in OKC without Tyus and/or Dario on the floor. Which is what it felt like and why they had just huge +/-
