"No surprise to me...he [Butler] has a real problem with Andrew Wiggins..." Also said that he thinks KAT is too concerned with his numbers, to the detriment of the team. "The personalities that exist within that locker room don't vibe with his personality. He vibes with a Tom Thibodeau personality...hard-nose, hard-core." "Wiggins has been accused of being a guy who plays for the money, rather than for the love of the game. This is one of the problems Jimmy Butler has with him." ESPN: Jalen/Stephen A. breakdown

Colin Cowher thinks less of Jimmy Butler now"Butler wants to go to the Clippers, or the Nets, or the Knicks, because he wants to be "the man."" Calls Butler insecure and talks about how the best players embrace other great players because that's how you win Championships. "If Butler is the best player on your team, you're not playing in May and June." Essentially says, if you're the Clippers right now take a look at Jimmy's injury history, and the fact that he's willing to leave MN with that coach and those two star players to go play in Brooklyn, and be very skeptical of what he can bring to your team.

Butler wasn't a leader in Chicago (some of us made a point of saying that). None of this with him is really surprising.

Butler wasn't a leader in Chicago (some of us made a point of saying that). None of this with him is really surprising. In hindsight it's not. He divided the Bulls locker room this same way, with him and Wade on one side and the young players on the other. But I believed the narrative we heard from the organization and media alike that Butler was a great guy who was leading by example with the Wolves. What a load of B.S. that was. I just wish I could get back all those hours of listening to the Britt/Brauer podcast where Britt fawned over Butler, and to a lesser degree Thibs, while criticising KAT and Wiggins non-stop. Goes to show that a little charm with the media goes a long way in shaping the narrative about yourself.

Woj: Taylor wants Butler gone in next several days."Despite the objections of Minnesota Timberwolves president of basketball operations and coach Tom Thibodeau, owner Glen Taylor has mandated that a deal needs to be negotiated to trade disgruntled All-Star forward Jimmy Butler in the next several days, league sources told ESPN. ...the list of organizations interested in talking further with Minnesota is significant, league sources said: Brooklyn, Detroit, Houston, the LA Clippers, Miami, Philadelphia and Portland are among the teams interested in probing for deals. Several teams are willing to take Butler without an assurance that he would re-sign with them in the summer. For months, Taylor has considered making changes to Thibodeau's front-office structure, including Layden, and that scenario has been discussed again recently, sources said. Taylor asserting his authority in the Wolves' front office has been months in the making. Thibodeau ... wants to hold onto Butler and navigate the season with him."

It would be more intriguing if they didn't turn us down.

Why isn't Jimmy Butler Playing? To paraphrase, this situation is really odd. Players don't typically go AWOL when they make a trade request, especially when they have a year remaining on their contract. "In a normal world, the only reason the Wolves should not demand Butler report to camp and get ready to participate in preseason would be if a trade was imminent or if Butler’s presence would hurt the team."

It would be more intriguing if they didn't turn us down. Do we know for sure that they are not still negotiating?
