It's a long season. It looked like the Twins were unable to handle Houston. Everything else seems to be back on course along with bad coaching.

Rocco has absolutely no feel for how to manage a pitching staff. It's been his biggest Achilles Heel from Day 1 and hasn't gotten any better.

Last nights game was winnable but he over used Smeltzer.

Interesting how the team is moving along. SP/RP got injured, which was predictable when you sign players with injury history. Sano has most likely played his last game as a Twin. The injury may keep him out the whole season. Rocco still does not know how to manage a pitching staff. It still costs a game here and there.

I never seen a manager that was worse at handling a bullpen than Rocco. He's starting to give away games at a really alarming rate.
Seriously, we've lost four games to Cleveland in the last 9 days and in each one we had a lead late and in each one Pagan was an integral part of blowing that game. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this shit out. Pagan cannot be trusted to get outs. Now you see why the Padres were so happy to be rid of him.

Rocco blows another one by being unable to manage a bullpen.
He's an awful manager. There are definitely things I like about him, but his feel for the game and in-game decisions are horrific.

Yes, Rocco blows. Add in his penchant to pull SP early so they have to use more bullpen arms. What is it this year? In previous years you knew 5 or 6 innings they would get pulled no matter what. Now it is 4 innings or 5 innings and pull them. This places MORE burden and use of the bullpen. You got RP like Duffy and Pagan who simply cannot be trusted to hold a lead. He keeps throwing them out.

Rocco continues to be an idiot.
You were handed a brand new bullpen. And you went with Pagan and Duffey in a game where you had a 1-0 lead?

I could not agree more. You've been saying this about him for ages. I don't think Rocco has an original thought in his brain. He continues to walk east looking for a sunset. He makes it tough for me to even watch the team.
I'm so sick of seeing a starter pulled who was untouchable for 6 innings.
I liked the trades. At least they did something.
Do they find a way to bring back Carlos Correa? I'm leaning no. Too much money.

6 innings is a miracle for a SP and the Twins. They are usually pulled in the 4th or 5th inning, regardless of how they are pitching. Then the BP gets used up and tired. Rocco has NO clue how to manage a pitching staff. He has lots of other issues, but that is the largest one.
After the moves the Twins made to shore up the team, if they do not make the playoffs or exit early he should be fired. He already should have been before this season, but no.

At minimum we need a new manager.

Equal blame on Rocco for constantly using him, and the Google Boys for making him available.

The team died the day that Eloise Pohlad did. She was the heart and soul of the organization and the only Pohlad to ever care about baseball.

The team died the day that Eloise Pohlad did.She was the heart and soul of the organization and the only Pohlad to ever care about baseball. You know...I think so. She did care and wanted to be proud of her team. The rest of them just see the team as dollar signs. I don't know the family except that Carl was "Mr Cheap". I was hoping the kid would bring something more. It was wishful thinking for sure.
Rocco doesn't have an original thought as a manager. Nobody manages a pitching staff worse. You've said that often.
I thought Falvey and Levine would be better as talent evaluators. Obviously they are limited by ownership. They have done some good things but.... I am also very unimpressed overall by their assistant coaching choices. Hitting and pitching that is.
Rocco's bad pitching decisions can take the soul out of a team. I would fire Rocco today and promote anybody else. How about the "hot dog" guy?
What do you do with Pagan? At times he has good stuff. Do you start him? To keep going back to the guy in relief after he loses game after game is insanity.

In order to qualify for the ERA title a pitcher must have 162 innings. This season, for the first time in Twins history they will not have a single qualifying pitcher.

And with Rocco continuing, you will see more of the same team we had this year and previous years. What will it take to get him fired?

I know a 30+ year Twins VP who told me Rocco gets his marching orders from Falvey and Levine. They are all "one big happy family". No wonder the gushing report.
As much as I love baseball I'll be paying a lot less attention to the Twins. I feel lied to about the new Stadium and the spending promises they made. It won't be long before attendance crumbles.
Thank god I still have our Wolves, Vikings, and the Wild.

The Twins have fired head athletic trainer Michael Salazar.
Scapegoat #1.
