I'll keep it short. It's going to be a long year. We can't hit our way out of a paper bag. The pitching isn't anything to write home about either.
I've been known to be an optimistic guy but I'm having a tough time with our Twins.
Buxton and Correa are worth watching for sure.

Don’t forget our overall defense stinks too.
For every plus defender we have, we have at least one that stinks.
Not a fan of our new hitting coach either…

I had high hopes on the new hitting coach. Oh well. I respect your opinion. We'll see how he plays out. They seem to go through hitting and pitching coaches way too often.
I was so sure Falvey and Levine were the guys to turn things around. Maybe I just couldn't wait ti get rid of the old regime. Losing confidence fast.
It might be time to part ways with Sano if we can get a decent piece for him. 4 years ago I loved Kepler's future. He's fallen too.

They are pretty much unwatchable. I was flipping through the channels and hit the Twins at Fenway yesterday when Boston got 6 runs in one inning. Just atrocious. Time to send Sano to Boston so they can win a couple more World Series like we did with Ortiz.
Just terrible how this team has been run. Pitching is easily the worst I've ever seen.

Time to send Sano to Boston so they can win a couple more World Series like we did with Ortiz. Ortiz was actually good for us though. His final year for us was him clearly heading in the right direction: 125 games: .272, .339 OB%, 20 HRs, 32 2B, Only 87 Ks vs 43 BBs. Sano hasn't even hit /250 since 2017 and strikes out 1.5x per game. Health was the big concern with Ortiz, not ability. Sano is Rob Deer 2.0.

And to think TK didn't like him because he wouldn't hit to the opposite field either? I can't be too mad at TK as he brought us 2 World Championship trophies.
Outside of TK and Cheryl Reeve it's been a long drought.

Hopefully the twins have Sano go off sometime this season and then send him out for max return.

Though 12 games:
Team BA: .198
Starter ERA: 3.11 Reliever ERA: 4.96
Unfortunately, our starters have only pitched 55 innings, vs 49 for our bullpen.

I saw a young MN pitcher Griffin Jax last night for just an inning or so. I liked what I saw.
The guy appears to have 3 solid pitches. He moves the ball up, down, in, and out while always being around the plate. He has good control and can throw 95.
Of course one inning isn't exactly a huge sample size but I have some hope for this guy.

Byron Buxton is putting on a monster freak show with his hitting...his whole game really. He hits 2 HR's today with the 2nd on a walk off winner in the 10th. He hit a high fastball 470 into the upper deck. If he keeps this pace up he'll be American League MVP.
On a 1-10 I give the guy a 10 for hitting. A 10 for fielding and a 10 for base running. In 37 at bats he has 6 HR's 11 RBI's and a 950 slugging percentage. That is ridiculous!
If he only had a little more support behind him.

If he can stay on the field, he's the best player in baseball.

It appears that something has come alive in the Twins. Sweeping the White Sox was nice but how sad is it that we are .500 team and #1 in the Central division?

It's way too early to call it, but if things hold up, the Nelson Cruz trade could go down as the best Twins deal since the Pierzynski one.

Love Nelson Cruz so the deal better be good. We have a guy at the beginning of his career looking like a legit ace for a 3 month rental of a DH (that is batting .200 in the 75 games since he left us).

Josh Winder pitched a gem in his first ML start: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K Yep. They've won 10 of their last 11. Go figure. It's amazing how sports can continue to confound. That's why they don't play on paper.
Don't get me wrong I'm delighted. It's great to see.
It's only fitting if we get rich off the Cruz trade. I loved the guy. That's rare. Only a small handful of guys in that class.

I used to remember going out to Met Stadium to see a Twins game in the late sixty's. I was 13 or so and the games used to take 2 hours 15 minutes. It was a great afternoon. Of course I bot the $3.00 seats and by the 3rd inning migrated down to an empty unused seat down by the field on the first base line off of home plate. Those were the days.

Not sure what got into the Twins. If they are playing sucky teams, Coach lit a fire under their butts or what. But it appears to be working.

Josh Winder was a 7th round pick of ours from 2018. Joe Ryan is who we got for Cruz. 5 Starts: 3-1, 1.63 ERA, 16 Hits, 5 Runs, 28 Ks, 7 Walks.

Looks like the SP And RP have kept them in a ton of games. I don't think anyone imagined pitching like this.
The hitting still needs to come along.

And, of course, both Ryan and Winder struggle in their last starts...
