1st game of a back-to-back. Be nice to not have to play our big guns too many minutes with Denver tomorrow. Speaking of... Nuggets entire starting line-up is "Day-to-Day for tonight's game against Utah. Be interesting how many of their guys they rest tonight with the game against us tomorrow. www.espn.com/nba/team/injuries/_/name/den

This is embarrassing. Wolves letting lowly Wizards trash them.

Down by 10 at the half. The Wiz can't miss shooting 60% from 3 and 56% field. I'm hoping they can't keep it up.

ANT with 51 and the crowd is going nuts!! I am too. What a performance by our Wolves down by 20 early.
Rudy with 19 and 16.
This is really fun. The team I expected last year.
Levine tried to keep me grounded last year. Thanks David.

Nuggets rested Gordon, but Wolves rested Naz! I predict we get KAT back this game since Rudy played almost 40.

Very disappointed. On a night when we should be resting players, we end up playing Rudy 40 minutes and having Ant have to provide a superhuman performance just to beat a team that has only won 15 games all year. I get it that the Wizards shot the lights out...but why do teams continue to have these "once in a blue moon" nights against us?
These slow starts cant continue to happen. And they happen with regularity now. The coaching staff needs to take some responsibility for these slow starts because either A: the game plan isnt correct, or B: players are not executing or putting forth the required effort. Either way, we seem to be doing the same thing game in and game out right now...which is a real problem. We are finding ways to win games like last nights but in the playoffs, slow starts like that will doom us. I've actually gotten to the point where i hope the team is down at half because we usually take the 2nd half more seriouusly and win those games. If we are up, it appears that the team rests on its laurels and thinks its in good shape and thats when problems start. Note Jim Petersons point at the beginnig of the game about not doing dumb things like taking "dare shots" against a team we're supposed to beat. The fact that he even has to say that is a problem.
I see games like this with the Leonard Millers and Josh Mynotts all suited up and hoping that they're going to get some meaningful minutes...only to see the starters once again playing with thier food and not allowing them the ability to get meaningful minutes in a blow out.

This starts and I've seen it when teams have 2 or 3 sharpshooters. They just run screens to get their 3 point shooters open. Phoenix has Booker and Allen for example. Forces our defenders to be more diligent on the 3 point line opening up the lane.

Yep, KAT will be coming back. It is a win and reinforcement is on the way.

Ant, NAW, and Rudy with just great games. Ant in particular was just great. Had some defensive lapses in the first half off ball, but just amazing offense. I'm really impressed with how he kept making the right play passing to open shooters in the 4th quarter as he closed in on 50. In the past do we think Ant would be passing with a chance to get 50 when up 10 vs. a bad team? More evidence that he's figuring it out. Bodes really well for the future.
How many times has NAW turned the tide or hit a timely shot this year? He's been great. If this continues, the Wolves are going to have to make a tough decision. NAW is just a better player right now than Jaden. The defense is very similar (better actually per EPM) and he's clearly the better offensive player. I still have confidence that Jaden can step up going forward, but right now, NAW is just better IMO.

I’m not too concerned by the slow starts. I think the team is running out of gas a bit more mentally than anything. The good thing is they’ve been able to regain their focus mid-game. The time off before playoffs will do them good. I’m not expecting a win tonite but hoping we take care of Atlanta and OKC loses one more to make the Phoenix game meaningless.
