3:25 Game time
2-1 Chicago Bears 2-1 Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota should be 3-0 exceptfor a bonehead play by Cousins.
I do expect them to win provided they have no stupid mistakes.

Da Bears are favored by 1-1.5 today at Chicago. We have had a tough time winning in Chicago for years but I like us today because of our running game and better quarterback play for the purple. I'm thinking 17-13 Vikes.
I hope it doesn't come down to a field goal for us to win.

What a terrible game. Cousins is not the future. We need a QB that can throw beyond 30 yards (accurately). I do wish Keenum was still playing for us.

I was thinking much the same. We were out-coached too. I really didn't see this bad a performance coming today.
Cousins is a big disappointment. He has zero elusiveness. We got beat at the line of scrimage too. Basically, we got our asses handed to us.

It's time for Zimmer to go.
Once again the team came out totally unprepared to start the game.
And while he "1970s offense" can do some damage against bad teams, it can totally be shut down by a good front 7 (and the Bears were missing 3 of their starting 7...)

Ted Glover:
Mike Zimmer: These games are becoming tired refrains for the Vikings against teams that are even remotely talented. It’s a tired script, and I am 100% sure it’s one we’ll read and see played out again and again this season. Slow starts, the Vikings fall behind, they look lost for at least one quarter or more on defense before they seem to figure things out. All the while, the offense can’t find their ass with both hands, can generate no production, and everything looks completely out of sync. Every time one of these games happen, the head coach stands at the podium and vows to figure things out, yet every time the Vikings play a good team, nothing seems to be figured out. Today he got outcoached in all phases by Matt Nagy (again), the Vikings are now 0-2 in the division, and on a day when they had a big opportunity to get his team into the thick of the NFC North race, they came out flatter than five day old Coke and dropped into last place in the division. It’s unacceptable for a team with this much talent.

Zimmer's Vikings are 13-28 (.317) against teams that had a winning record coming into the game.

I still like Zimmer but I'm concerned. We weren't prepared going into that game on either side of the ball. Especially defense! We were very slow to adjust.
I can see it some with the offense. We spent so much time making sure we run the ball effectively that we now can't pass the ball.
Bradbury and Elflein are getting beat like a drum too. Spielman has to take some heat as well.

Honestly, what is there to like about Zimmer? His defense is good, but not great. Does he need even more 1st round picks and high-priced veterans to regain his status as a defensive guru? The league has adapted to what he does well and he seems unwilling or unable to counter back. Is it his amazing clock management and use of challenges? Is it the fact that he's stuck in the 1970s? How about always coming out unprepared (we've given up the 3rd most opening drive TDs in the NFL since 2017)? Maybe it's how long it takes him to adjust to things happening in the game (if he ever does...)? And yeah, Spielman needs to go too. Sure nobody can move around in the draft to collect extra 7th round picks like he can, but just the way he's handled the QB position and O-Line over his tenure is enough to justify booting him.

It's disappointing Levine but ALL of your points are valid and have to be considered. I like Zimmer mostly because I compare him to past disaster coaches. Childress heads the list. Zimmer is running out of chances I believe.
I have a hunch the Wilfs are watching carefully and will make the necessary changes.....maybe even suddenly.
Also, Zimmer has been quick to cut field goal kickers perhaps to our detriment.
Lastly, the Spielman-Zimmer tag team couldn't find a quaterback, or their ass for that matter, with either hand. $30 million bucks for Kirk Cousins is Andrew Wiggins like. Thank god he only has one more year.

BTW, I forgot to mention Xavier Rhodes who needs to be bitch-slapped for his underwhelming play. He's the most over-rated corner in the business. I was hoping he'd be traded this off-season....but no.

Childress won as many Playoff games as Zimmer has...

Zimmer's Vikings are 13-28 (.317) against teams that had a winning record coming into the game. What is it when you have Keenum vs Cousins for quarterback? I think most of that is related to Cousins but I could be wrong. With Keenum we had a very solid quarterback. Cousins is way to panicked in the pocket. But I think Zimmer needs to go. Probably Spielman as well.

Up until the Eagles playoff game and then he became Case Keenum again. He got away with so many bad passes that year. So many dropped INTs, so many times Thielen or Diggs bailed him out (they were #1 and #2 in the NFL in number of "contested passes caught".
