Ugh. And now the starters are back in and we're losing.
This is going to be a great roster for our next coach.

We have a winner!
KAT's defense on Brow was spectacular all night.
Love the new guys.
Better coaching and minutes management and this is a blowout.

Definitely the most enjoyable game of the year. The rotation already feels like it's much cleaner. I would love to see Saric get a lot of run and Tolliver and Taj being the main backup bigs but I don't see Thibs making that move. Replacing Gorgui with any NBA average wing would be incredible, I have to think we are trying to showcase him for a trade now to see if we can get anything for him.

Good:
Already love Roco more than I ever loved Jimmy. Dude gives honest effort. A true 3 and D guy.
Saric struggled but you can see he has the tools to be a good play maker. He looked almost too nervous.
Towns came up big. He knows this is his team now again.
Actually, it's also part Wiggy's team too. Still takes a lot of bad shots, but he came up in the clutch. Also giving more effort rebounding.
Actually, it'll be Okogie's team soon. LOVE THIS KID. He needs to start soon. Him and RC was giving Pelicans hell defensively. Dude just plays basketball the right way. Doesn't force anything. Very natural.
The Bad Teague. I am sorry if I'm harsh on him, but he is one of the worse PG I've seen put on a wolves uniform in a looooong time. At this point I would take even Tyus over him. Dude brings the ball up, dribbles for 15 seconds, throws it to a teammate with the shot clock winding down for a terrible shot. F'n hell man it drives me nuts how stupid he is. If anything, move him to the bench and just let him play the Lou Williams role and I'll complain less.
Dieng. As we all know, one of the most unmovable contracts in the league. Jim Pete was on spot when he said that for some reason Dieng feels he has to score to be of value to this team. No dude, just no. Just box out, rebound, contest shots, and try to get easy baskets. Dude tries to be Dirk Nowitzki and he's not.
Thibs. Most of his substitutions were head scratchers (what else is new?). Dieng was getting killed next to Saric. Doesn't care to bring in Taj. Teague controlling the offense has 7 To's in like, 5 minutes. Doesn't put Tyus back in (and yes most of the TO's were Teague's dumbass hogging the ball).
Over all, I am happy about the win. Happy about our two new guys. I have big expectations for Saric. Dude is just so skill. I already know Roco is going to fit in perfectly. Good win post-Butler era.

This team could be fun to watch again...
Wiggins is so freakishly athletic and low key, it’s a weird combo that I think is easily misunderstood. I paused that put back dunk attempt and his elbow was clearly at the rim as he got up. Amazing.
KAT dominated the Brow, which was so great to see.
Covington and Okogie just seem to know how to be in the right place to disrupt and cause turnovers.
We’re just one Tom Thibodeau firing away from a bright future again.

Love the new guys.
Covington's shot was off, but he was taking good shots, he was rebounding, and he's so active on defense. Its like he has 4 arms out there.
Saric looked great. His defense was shockingly good, he's already the best passer on the team, and he just understands how to play. He needs to take A LOT of Taj's minutes.

Watching G bog down the team so much is tough. Tolliver needs those minutes, he's too valuable as a 3pt shooting big and he's a better team defender. Was he hurt?
I was trade machining for G during the game and I questioned if I would give up Okogie to get off of G's contract and it brought back Bazemore. He'd be a great 6th man and his deal is up after 2020. I'd probably say no but I don't think Tyus has enough value to even get you close to getting off of G at this point and there are not a lot of logical fits unless you want to take back Mozgov or Ryan Anderson.

Well, Teague is an aggressively poor passer, as is Rose. Tyus is more of an excellent ball mover than a crafty passer. Dario is a natural passer. He instinctively understands angels and what type of pass to throw. And he has terrific court vision. He always seems aware of where the other 9 guys on the floor are.

Got to see that last half and what fun it is to be a Wolves fan again. Covington is very solid. Saric as people mentioned looked like he didn't have it tonight. Most likely new coach and learning plays.
Okogie is the real deal. And if anyone repeats Hanneman's Obi Wan Okogie they will get banned. Just kidding but he needs a better name not some stupid thing from Hanneman. KAT appeared to be re-vitalized. They still need to move every single former Bull including the coach.

If you missed the first half you missed Dario putting on a clinic. Unfortunately Thibs stuck with Taj far too long, and Dario's 2nd half stint wasn't as impressive.

This is what I keep stressing to my friends. I don't know if I was just spoiled by Ricky's unselfishness and passing abilities, but I cannot stand how Rose and Teague play the point. The best example of how pathetic Teague's passing skill is was on full display in the 4th. He had a P and R with Towns. Pelicans switched, now Towns has Holiday on him. Town seals Holiday UNDER THE BASKET. Meanwhile, Teague is looking and deciding when and how he is gonna pass Towns the ball. JUST THROW IN GODDAMMIT. He decides to challenge Davis which goes no where and ends up passing it to Wiggins for a terrible shot with 2 seconds remaining. Just drives me insane. Such a basic play. Hell, I could pass the ball into the post when I was 11 years old.

Taj and Teague became black holes in the 3rd quarter. Why did they keep giving the ball to Taj? The team forgot or was playing iso ball and it was horrid. I kept saying Taj needed to go to the bench. Teague held onto the ball way too much instead of initiating some passing.
Saric- You are going to get this with him, good play and bad play.
Covington- Same streaky player. He has flashes of really great play and other times on the floor he just kind of zoned out on defense. I would have loved seeing more passing to him. Especially in the 3rd and 4th, an extra pass here or there. As for his shot, that is classic Covington tonight. Clangs shots and other times looks awesome.
I was more impressed with Saric tonight. Okogie is a really good player and just needs more time.

I probably wouldn't either, just seems like the only avenue unless we are dealing multiple 1sts. It wouldn't take much for Okogie to perform like a guy who should be making 8-10M in the next few years and if he's on a contract paying him $2M a year, that's what the roster needs more than anything. I'd settle for sending Taj to elsewhere if it brought back a wing player for a couple of years so that Okogie could develop at his own pace a little. The Bulls idea CC had would be nice if Valentine were healthy as he could serve as secondary playmaker for a bench unit and run PG in a pinch if we are beset by injuries. We just have 1 too many classic bigs right now for the rotation.
