What a hoot! I'd hate to see that for my guy Zach. That would be great. He can take Rose and Taj with him and purge the stench of the Bulls from this franchise completely.

Would much rather see Jim Pete get a shot at HC. He has the same coaching credentials as Saunders, only better: he coached a much more successful franchise in a much higher profile assistant coach role.
Unlike the miniSaunders , he is a former player which makes him very releatable to the players. He is also very articulated, well spoken and decent person.
Not to mention he checks the most important box on this search: Taylor will not have to open the door to let somebody else in the country club, Jim is already inside...

Wittman makes some sense to me. Ryan is buddies with the players - he is going to need someone to play a bit of the bad cop. I like Wittman only slightly better than Thibs. If Wittman is hired I'll give up on the Wolves.
BTW, I do like Monty Williams but a young up and comer is the way for us to go. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Ryan Saunders does a good job for us.
Agreed for Head Coach. But, Witt as a top assistant makes sense to me. I think Ryan will be a players coach....he is going to need his top assistant to be a hard arse.

How low have we gotten that people are willing to accept mediocrity. I have no personal animosity towards Ryan and it would be great for him to be a HC some day but really? As for some assistant coaches why not ask Monty Williams or Jim Pete to come in as assistant coaches and then see how things play out. Sadly this is part of the problem. Does Ryan even know people he could ask to be one of his Assistants since he really hasn't been known in the league for any length of time.

He's been coaching professionally in the NBA for 10 years, and has been around the game his entire life. I'm pretty sure that he knows a person or two in the league. Thibs is gone and we have a young, talented group of players. Saunders is going to be the coach, whether you like it or not. Why continue to complain? Let it play out and enjoy the ride.

I'm just so past Wittman, McHale etc. I can't go back. I don't like any of Thibs assistants either except for maybe Malik Allen.

Whoever the next coach is, if KAT is not being consulted during the search process, we are doing it wrong. KAT has to be included in the talks in some capacity to prove to him that he is the centerpiece of the franchise and that he is the leader of the team going forward. We don’t have to take his suggestions but he needs to have some say.

I just learned about this today. I was on ESPN hiatus because of Football and not wanting to see anything about the playoffs.
Good that Thibs is gone. Maybe we need a young and fresh coach for the team. There will not be any change until the end of the season.
And I really will like to see what happens the next few games.

I don't think calling him a Thibs devotee is out of line.
BTW, I had forgotten about the Wittless nickname. Perfect. :)

Read some rumblings that Chauncey Billups is interested in our vacancy. Still within the country club, I'd prefer him to Hoiberg tbh. Any thoughts on Chauncey?

Supposedly he's always been more interested in front office than coaching. After listening to his basketball takes on TV, I'm not interested in him for either role/
