Figured with a handful of really intriguing players (many of whom may be future Wolves), they deserve their own thread.

Moore, Dozier and Mudiay are all 2-way guards who could help the Wolves this year. Plus you like to see Minott’s energy and hops. To say nothing of Garza. Iowa will be fun to watch.

Minott is crazy raw, but he's incredibly gifted.
I'm not sure we'll see him this year, but I'll be shocked if he isn't in the rotation next year.
He's kind of a cross between Vando and McDaniels - but with a more aggressive offensive game.

If I'm not mistaken, Moore played PG a lot during Summer League. It'll be interesting to track how he develops as a PG because he is such a smart player. Thanks for starting this thread. It's definitely worth it to track these guys.

Thanks for starting this thread. It's definitely worth it to track these guys. I'll try to update it after each game - and if I see anything interesting. This year feels like the first year where the G League club is actually important - and that we could be seeing key future guys growing up.

It's one thing to have raw physical tools, but Minott has already shown encouraging flashes that lend legit hope that there's something there. He seems to have a motor too which helps. Hopefully he puts in the time.

It's definitely worth it to track these guys. Moore looked kind of shaky in summer league, seemed a little shorter than I thought he would, and doesn't have great burst/athleticism. He looked more calm though in preseason even if he wasn't shooting that well and they did play him some at PG. Brogdon is an interesting comp. That would be a great scenario for the Wolves.

Both were said to be very "raw" when we got them and wouldnt contribute right away. If I'm not mistaken..both were contributing in their first year with the big club. Might it make some sense to bring Minott up to maybe add some energy out there? I have ZERO idea if hes in any way shape or form ready to contribute. Just saying we didnt think Vando and McDaniels could right away either.

Just saying we didnt think Vando and McDaniels could right away either. Vando played 5 minutes for us the year we traded for him. That bumped up quite a bit his 2nd year with us, but that was his 3rd year out of college (previous 2 were split between the G League and the NBA) and on a team that finished 13th out of 15 in the west. McDaniel's rookie year was that 13th place team as well - and he was a significant negative on both ends. Minott has a ton of natural ability and he's flashing some skills, but he barely played in college and he doesn't look like he understands what he's doing a lot. I think he needs lots of minutes more than anything, and he won't get that up here. Who does he take minutes from? KAT? McDaniels, Anderson, Prince? Moore is the lower ceiling guy by a lot, but he's probably a lot closer to being NBA ready.

Nice to see decent numbers/shooting from both players, but I have to remind myself that it's a small sample and it's the G League. Bolmaro shot 38% and McKinley Wright shot 40% from 3 last year for Iowa. Moore has grown on me. I think Minott has the higher ceiling, but Moore looked way better as far as being playing smart basketball in limited preseason minutes compared to his bad summer league. He doesn't wow, but maybe he could be a Malcom Brogdon lite type? It'll all come down to how well he can shoot. Doesn't seem like he doesn't do anything else in a remarkable fashion so it usually comes down to shooting for those type of guys.

He played 88 games and 2600 minutes for Duke. Almost 30 MPG for his career. Minott played 33 games and only 480 minutes for Memphis. That's less than 15 MPG, and was basically out of the rotation down the stretch.

Moore Jr has great potential to be a nice rotation piece next to Ant, maybe someone like prime Rivers, though ideally a better shooter. I'd love to see him play on this team now.
Does Mudiay do anything of NBA quality? Namely, drive or defend?

I’m encouraged by Moore. Looks like he’s hitting his 3s and handling the ball OK. I’m keeping my eye on PJ Dozier. Looks like they are limiting his minutes as he comes back from knee injury. But could see him joining the Wolves roster. Jokic loved him with the Nuggets.

I'd love to see them give Moore a shot for a game or two. He can bring he ball up the floor. We need him to make a few shots, make solid decisions and not turn the ball over.
I still think Rivers can be a defensive spark plug at PG just as long as he doesn't get carried away shooting the ball. He blows hot and cold like Dlo.
