When everyone's healthy, where does Minott fit in the rotation? Conley, JMac Ant, Nowell, Rivers McDaniels, NAW KAT/SloMo, Prince Gobert, Naz I think I would bench Rivers and have JMac, Nowell and Minott be in or out of the rotation based on that night's matchup. I want Naz, NAW, and Prince in the rotation every night until KAT gets back, and then I'd be fine with Minott taking Naz's minutes. I'd say a backup 3. I think (hope) Nowell is gone next year and we can use NAW as kind of a combo guard next to JMac. He's someone who CAN handle the ball in certain situations, but we don't want him to be the primary guy. I think Prince may be crunched out of the rotation next year given how great Slo-Mo has been and the emergence of Minott. Conley, JMac Ant, NAW, Moore McDaniels, Minott, Prince KAT, Anderson, Knight Gobert, Naz (if here), Garza I don't think we'll see much turnover on the roster. That's not really Connelly's MO, even though I believe we may need it. I'd like to see us grab another PG for some more bench depth. Conley's old and injury prone, so it'd be nice to have more guys who can fill in in a backup role.

But I think there is a decent chance that Prince, Rivers, Naz and Nowell are gone next year. Conley/JMac/NAW Ant/NAW McDaniels/Minott KAT/SloMo/Minott Gobert/KAT/Winner of the Garza/Knight battle. Moore and someone not currently on the team make 12.

But I think there is a decent chance that Prince, Rivers, Naz and Nowell are gone next year. Prince isn't special, but I'd bring him back for the $7.65M amount that he'd be due if we pick up his guarantee next year. He's not great, but he can hit 3s and has legit wing size. I think we're learning that it's hard for young guys to be consistent so relying on Minott to play regular winning minutes should be avoided. Hopefully he improves enough to just take the job, but in that case, Prince should have some trade value. Nowell is gone and although I know the team likes Naz, it's just hard to justify paying him. I think a lot of general fans are going to be frustrated by that.

I really hope the Wolves don't throw Minott in a trade. He's one of the few "assets" we could put in a deal. Any team we deal with would be dumb not to ask for him. Hopefully the Wolves are putting a pretty high value on him. In a redraft how high would he go in the first round?

Sooner or later he might get a little respect.

He's going to get an NBA contract this summer. If not by us, someone. He's too good for the G-League.

Maybe it's different for Luka, but I remember that we had some kind of RFA rights on Lil JMac when he was on a G League deal before he got a full NBA contract. Did they change that? It would be nice to have some kind of matching rights on him as he could replace Knight on the roster.

Minott didn't even play meaningful minutes when Jaden was out. What's his path to minutes when Jaden is back which sounds like it could be soon maybe tonight? Minott is still raw and could use the minutes.

Garza and Miller look too good for the G League.
Moore might not even be G League caliber…

Leonard Miller through 3 G League games:
35 MPG: 22.7 PPG (57/47/100), 8.7 RPG, 3.0 APG, 1.7 SPg, 1.3 BPG, 2.3 TOs, 2.0 PF.
He's averaging Five 3PA/Game (7/15), but only 2.0 FTA/Game (6/6).

I'm on board with Miller and Garza full-time, but Miller's so young probably makes more sense to give him minutes until Wolves make a move.

Leonard Miller apparently benched in 4th qtr for lack of defensive effort. Not ideal.

Leonard Miller apparently benched in 4th qtr for lack of defensive effort. Not ideal. This is great! They don’t play any defense in the G League, which means they’re holding Miller to a much higher standard. IMO, that’s a good sign that they really believe in him.

Though it's been said here many times that he can't play defense, I don't get why Garza doesn't get more run. He's a scoring machine in Iowa and has shown it in the big leagues too. I've seen him hustle and rebound like a madman. He's got great moves and feel under the basket. How bad could his D be to not be used to come in during second unit runs when no one can make a shot? Or pick his spots when there is a big to play against who can't score. There are certainly plenty of those. Is he too stupid to know where he should be? Is he a bad team mate and no one wants to play with him? What's the deal? There are plenty of flame throwers who don't play a lick of defense.

The problem with Garza is he’s a big, so you can’t really hide him.
And he’s a complete mess on defense. It’s not just that he’s really slow laterally, it’s that he constantly misses rotations and is almost never in position. When that happens everything falls apart.
My guess is he’s never been asked to do anything but stay near the basket and try to get in people’s way. And he appears to really be struggling to adapt to even basic defensive principles.

From poster minimus regarding Iowa Wolves:
"Let quickly describe our young players progress in gleague:
Luka Garza 3 games, pure dominance: 36.7PPG, 57%FG, 33%3PT, 12.3RPG, 3APG, 1.7BPG. Luka has improved his body to the point that he becomes simply unstoppable in gleague. He is even blocking shots now. IMO he is first candidate to get NBA standard deal, once we have spot in rotation, which might happen around deadline or in offseason
Wendell Moore Jr 8 games, disappointment: 14.6PPG (down from 18PPG last year), 33%FG (down from 53%), 29%%3PT (down from 48%), he gets more steals 1.8SPG, but from what I see he gambles way too much and does not play good positional defense like he used to. I really dont understand what is the problem with Wendell. On paper he is exactly why we brought guys such as Troy Brown Jr, NAW, but starting from SL he has been a complete disaster.
D.J. Carton 14 games, 16PPG, 47%FG, 34%3PT, 3.8RPG, 4.3APG, 1.8SPG My main concern with DJ is that he is an athletic comboguard who's skills and athleticism level is just enough for gleague and he does not have opportunity to improve his basketball awareness. I have not seen a single high IQ play from here, outside of dunks.
Trevor Keels 16 games, 15PPG, 45%FG, 31.4%3PT, 3.5RPG, 3.3APG, 1.7SPG Physical comboguard, with limited athleticism. He has two ways to be successful in NBA: first, he should follow Kyle Lowry path, become student of the game, second, become exceptional shotmaker. I like about him that in some moment he has shown aggressiveness, mental and physical toughness. Unfortunately, other aspects of his game are mediocre at best
Daishen Nix 6 games, 20PPG, 36%FG, 21%3PT, 5.3RPG, 6.2APG, 2.2SPG Another physical comboguard, with limited athleticism. But unlike Keels Nix came here as PG prospect. He has improved his body, he looks quicker now. He was shooting very well in preseason, but in gleague his shot has not been falling. Also I dont see much improvement in his playmaking.
Tyrese Martin 6 games, 11.5PPG, 40%FG, 40.6%3PT, 5.7RPG I expected him to be an energy wing from bench (in gleague) making cuts, timely open shots. He have a chance to redeem himself after returnung from injury
Leonard Miller 11 games, 18PPG, 53%FG, 34%3PT, 7.1RPG, 2APG, 1.2BPG In comparison with his previous season in Ignite Leonard is taking almost twice 3pt shots while making solid 34%, he also taking difficult threes: pullups, stepback etc. He also has shown good hands shooting from mid range and short range. My main concern is that while Miller is working more on his offensive game, he was drafted as high energy, high effort forward. On a recent video I saw how useless he is without his motor. He is 20yo, and still lacks physicality, so he needs to keep his motor.
Josh Minott 4 games, 14.5PPG, 46%FG, 18%3PT, 7.3RPG, 3.3APG, 3.5BPG Josh Minott played many minutes as big this season, which is not very good for his development. Yes, he is blocking ton of shots, but he is not dominating in defense. His 3PT shooting is down to abysmal 18%3PT (last season 42%). In SL games he looked slow footed, I wonder if it is because he added some weight.
Sum up: Because our main team is winning MIN kind of use all his efforts to keep winning. However, some choices Nix, Miller are made based on potential. These players are raw and cant contribute right now. Overall we were looking to add/develop a big guard: Nix, Krejci, Carton, Moore, Keels. It looks like an intentional thing, strategy for our roster construction. However, I often ask my self if instead of a big guard, we simply add a guard who can make a right play. Overall, I am kind of disappointed with our Iowa team play. They dont play like a team, their roster is poorly constructed, they lack bigs and shooters.
P.S. I have not seen many Iowa games, please feel free to comment, add.

Timberwolves' Chris Finch reveals goals for Leonard Miller in G LeagueMinnesota Timberwolves coach Chris Finch on Tuesday revealed that a key point of emphasis for rookie Leonard Miller in the G League is learning how to become a professional on and off the court. Miller has spent the majority of the season with the Iowa Wolves to develop and refine his skills as a player. The Timberwolves believe he can eventually become a regular contributor in the NBA, though will need some time to reach that level. The team, Finch said on Tuesday, has seen progress with Miller. Miller is averaging 18.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists on 36.7% shooting from 3-point range in 15 games with the Wolves. He registered two 30-point games, including a career-high 35 points and 10 rebounds in his last time out on Jan. 3. The 33rd pick has had some strong moments with the Wolves but hasn't consistently been a leading scorer and rebounder. However, the team believes he is buying into his role in the G League, which should help his on-court production. "He has a unique skill set, but at the same time, you have to define his game," Finch said. "Those are things you can do down in the G League. We tell him all the time that players don't necessarily want to go down there, but you only have success when you embrace being there. I think he is starting to do that and is starting to show a difference." www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/timberwolves-chris-finch-reveals-goals-for-leonard-miller-in-g-league/ar-AA1mIP0G?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=SCOOBE&cvid=435c93a6f6614771b0fbf5f279b93abe&ei=12

Interesting that Finch calls out being a professional on "and off" the court. Wonder if there is more there.
I am probably higher on Miller than most. I see good things for him.
