I'd love to see them give Moore a shot for a game or two. He can bring he ball up the floor. We need him to make a few shots, make solid decisions and not turn the ball over. I still think Rivers can be a defensive spark plug at PG just as long as he doesn't get carried away shooting the ball. He blows hot and cold like Dlo.Unfortunately he's really not much of a PG. He's just a small SG with a dad who played point.

Granted, he's an average nba player at best but he's a tenacious defender who can handle the ball. I like him better than Dlo and that's not saying much.

He's a combo guard because of his size. He does a little bit of everything, but nothing particularly well. He can shoot a little, he can pass a (very) little, he can defend a little. He did a decent job against Steph one series and the legend grew. But he's always been a poor to neutral defender.

Is this to make spot for AJ Lawson? Our major league club could surely use more 3 point shooting.

Random Wendell Moore DNP? My 3 minute google/twitter search turned up nada Me too. I can't imagine its rest after having 3 days off since the last game, and he played until a mass substitution with 2 minutes left in the last game. So it has to be illness, minor injury or trade. We'll see if he's back for the Saturday/Sunday double-header.

Boxscore: gleague.nba.com/game/iwa-vs-clc-2052200071?view=box-scoreHighlights: I love seeing Minott develop a little touch. His stats look great in G-League games, but he still looked a little lost on defense, being in no-man's land and having to scramble out to a shooter. Also, he stood NO chance against Diakite down low. Diakite is physical and Minott just has no mass to him yet. The Ant diet might do Minott some good

Looks like both Moore and PJ Dozier played in Monday win. And it looked like Moore might have been on bench in Miami. Probably they are bouncing guys back and forth to get some time with the big club.

Game 8: Wolves Hold Off Mad Ants For First Road WinDES MOINES, Iowa -- Six players finished in double figures on Friday night for the Iowa Wolves in a 127-124 road win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Iowa (5-3) controlled most of the game until Fort Wayne (4-3) went ahead by one point with 2:41 left in the game after the Mad Ants drilled three consecutive three-pointers to erase an eight-point deficit. The teams traded baskets before David Stockton’s pair of free throws put Fort Wayne up by four points with less than two minutes left. But, Josh Minott, who recorded a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds, buried a three-pointer to pull within one point. Iowa then forced a missed layup that was rebounded by two-way Luka Garza and Emmanuel Mudiay was fouled with 21.8 seconds left. After an unsuccessful coaches’ challenge, Mudiay made the two free throws to put Iowa up for good. Later, the Wolves forced a turnover and D.J. Carton made one of two free throws. Mudiay then picked off a bad pass for a steal and made one of two free throws. Fort Wayne didn’t get off a final shot as Iowa earned its first road victory. Iowa was led by Garza who had a game-high 30 points to go along with 11 rebounds for his second-straight double-double. It is Garza’s third consecutive 30-plus scoring performance. He entered Friday’s game as the fourth leading scorer in the NBA G League at 26.6 points per game. Mudiay tallied 21 points while two-way AJ Lawson in his Iowa debut recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Sampson had 15 points off the bench and made multiple key threes in the fourth quarter. Matt Lewis had 12 points. Fort Wayne was led Trevelin Queen and Gabe York who each scored 24 points. Stockton added a points/assists double-double with 13 and 10. York entered Friday as the G League’s second top scorer at 27.7 points. Holy s**t what a run for Garza... Like I said in the main thread: I'm honestly more excited about the kids in Iowa than I am the big squad these days. Makes me wonder what Connelly would've been able to do if he kept all those future draft picks...

Garza:
7 Games: 33.8 MPG, 27.3 PPG (68/55/75), 9 RPG, 4 APG, .7 SPG, 1 BPG. 2.3 TOV, 3.6 PF.
And he's shooting that 55% from 3 on more than 4 attempts/game.

The sad thing is that we have two max contract Centers, so we will likely not give Garza any NBA serious minutes, and we will lose him to another team and get nothing back.

Some nice players down there with Garza, mudiay, Lawson and Dozier not counting their draft picks. I’m just wondering what Connelly has in mind for the big picture. Is he grooming some of these players in anticipation of a trade to move some of the roster? This month I expect to see Ant initiating more than ever. Could see Reid and DLo going out and maybe they get by with Garza and Mudiay or even Dozier. Is Connelly plotting for this year, next year or even farther out?

How do the wolves keep Garza in Iowa, or even out of the rotation, despite our glut of centers/bigs?
