I would prefer the Nets over the others but the Lakers with Ingram would be intriguing but what a powerhouse that would be.

Realistic options I'd accept:
Washington: Otto Porter (maybe they throw in a pick). Lakers: Ingram or Ball plus Hart. Nets: RHJ, Carroll and the Denver pick. Denver: Harris + Philly: Fultz

Denver: Harris + Philly: Fultz I dont want anything to do with Lorenzo Ball.... keep that circus out of town... Plus, Tyus should be our starting PG. That move only throws more shade his way. I may be one of the only people who is actually a bit excited about the possibility of turning Butler into a better fitting long term piece. I see 2 benefits of Butler leaving: lose the drama and lose the coach. Of course...no guarantees that we hire a better coach....but at least we have a shot at hiring a better coach. This organization and team are a shit show right now

This organization and team are a shit show right now Taylor and LaVar deserve each other. And Tyus and Ball would actually make for a really solid backcourt pairing. Ball is already a stud defender with plenty of size to guard SGs, and Tyus is a terrific defensive PG. And the ball doesn't stick in either guy's hands ever. Our ball movement and ability to get players shots where they want them would be tremendous.

Jimmy Butler has requested a trade. That is the news emanating from the Los Angeles meeting between Butler, his agent, and Tom Thibodeau. Butler has one year remaining on his contract, and will be a unrestricted free agent next summer, giving him significant leverage. Apparently, the discontent was simply too much to overcome, both in personal terms (his relationship with Karl-Anthony Towns) and on the court, where Butler has been frustrated with the play of younger teammates. This is obviously bad news, as Butler was the Wolves best player last season, and a huge part of their return to relevance. However, problems have been on the horizon for months, and the team has, as far as I can tell, done nothing to try to solve them, leading to this crisis point mere days before the start of training camp. We’ll have plenty more to come, but for now it’s not clear exactly how the Wolves will react. Trying to find a palatable trade under the circumstances will be a challenge, but given Butler’s desires, and apparently those of KAT as well, doing so immediately might be the only option. It’s not impossible, however, that Butler remains with the Wolves at least as the season gets underway. According to Jon Krawczynski of the Athletic, he’s given the Wolves a list of teams (no more than three) that he would sign an extension with. Much more analysis to come, but as much as I blame Thibs, and Butler to a lesser extent for their intransigence, the fact that we’ve gotten to this point, days before camp, is an indictment on the entire organization starting with owner Glen Taylor. www.canishoopus.com/2018/9/19/17879458/jimmy-butler-requests-a-trade-from-the-timberwolves-nba-minnesota

Jon Krawczynski✔@jonkrawczynski Jimmy Butler has requested a trade from the Timberwolves, league sources tell me and @shamscharania. Butler has given Minnesota a list of 1-3 teams with which he is open to signing a contract extension.

With Media Day on Monday and Training Camp starting on Tuesday, I bet this gets resolved ASAP.

I hope he gets thoroughly booed by Target Center the first game he plays here.

I hope he gets thoroughly booed by Target Center the first game he plays here. He wouldn't care. If you want to boo any one, Boo Thibs and Taylor.

Can we fire Thibs and Layden today and bring in a real GM to make the trade?
Hell, bring in Hinkie and Becky Hammon and let's get ahead of the game instead of always being behind it.

Jon Krawczynski✔@jonkrawczynski I'm told Jimmy Butler's decision had very little if anything to do with Towns and Wiggins. More to do with contractual matters.

Not sure I'm buying it. Sounds like a way for Jimmy to not look like the bad guy.

Adrian Wojnarowski✔@wojespn Minnesota's Jimmy Butler has three preferred destinations for a trade, league sources tell ESPN: The Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks. Those three teams have max cap space to sign Butler as a free agent in July.

Based on those 3 teams, he's totally trying to set up playing with Kyrie next year.

Oh god...I just realized by the end of the day we could be likely looking at a Layden GM and Ryan Saunders HC situation...

Punch-Drunk Wolves@PDWolves Lest there be doubt about Thibs’s future, spend 30 seconds imagining him coaching that group of young guys after spending a year lauding Butler as the pro’s pro only to have a trade request right before Season 2. He’s lost his locker room credibility and that is everything.

He could have blown Thibs out in May and had an offseason to reboot with some shred of new culture. I'm angry at the whole thing and am half tempted to want everyone (KAT as well) blown out and we build back from the ground.

Oh god...I just realized by the end of the day we could be likely looking at a Layden GM and Ryan Saunders HC situation... Sad as that would be... at this point I'll take it. Ryan might surprise the hell out of everybody. David Adelman would be my choice for a young bright mind as coach. Maybe his dad can come back part time to be involved. We have very little bargaining leverage so I'm afraid we won't get much. Butler is an allstar so we should get a starter plus a 1st round pick. Obviously we need a starting SG or SF.
The Clips or Knicks are 2 teams I'd hate to deal with because they have nobody I want. That makes matters worse yet. Maybe the Nets have something. I always liked Dinwiddie but he's a poor 3 pt shooter. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson would be THE guy to get. Joe Harris is up and coming.
I thought things were bad enough at the end of last season. Never in my imagination did I expect the sh/t-show I'm seeing now.
There might be a wonderful new beginning to arise from these ashes. Let's hope so.

It's super revealing to me! Lets get rid of this malcontent before other teams catch on that he's a locker room cancer. What a steal Chicago made in the trade with us. They had to be laughing all the way to the bank.

There really is no reason to believe he'd be a good coach. • All the talk a few years back was David Adelman was the super respected coach’s son and Ryan was Flip’s kid. • His "analytics software" company looks basic as hell. It appears to simply be clicking on a court where each player takes a shot and if they make them or not. • Listening to him speak, he inherited Flip’s lack of polish, but none of his charm. • He's never been a Head Coach or Lead Assistant at any level. The only reason he's even on the coaching staff is Taylor won't let him be fired. If his last name wasn't Saunders would you be remotely interested in him?

I wouldn't be surprised if Scott Roth is coaching this team in two weeks.

Butler for Portzingis. 8)
Figures that this would happen. I traded Kemba Walker for Butler in my dynasty league about 2 weeks ago. The good news is I just traded away Paul George and Kemba Walker, so Butler will invariably be traded for one of them. I hope they manage to work Thibs into this trade. I would give up 2 second rounders to get out of his contract.
I would be all for getting Hinkie and Hammon here.
