Butler met with Thibodeau on Tuesday in Los Angeles, and informed him that he didn’t want to start the season with the Timberwolves.

Holy cow. This is actually Wiggins' brother... Thinking he knows something we don't and I would think this would be a positive for his brother and for us is the gist.

For his brother, yes. Not sure keeping Wiggins around here is going to help things much.

Butler to the Knicks for Knox, Ntilinka and Joakim Noah? We get to keep a #ThibsGuy for his last season in Minnesota and add two young guys with potential to be good all around players for our next coach to develop.
Knicks get out of a horrid contract to add a superstar now and a superstar later

Sad as that would be... at this point I'll take it. Ryan might surprise the hell out of everybody. David Adelman would be my choice for a young bright mind as coach. Maybe his dad can come back part time to be involved. We have very little bargaining leverage so I'm afraid we won't get much. Butler is an allstar so we should get a starter plus a 1st round pick. Obviously we need a starting SG or SF.
The Clips or Knicks are 2 teams I'd hate to deal with because they have nobody I want. That makes matters worse yet. Maybe the Nets have something. I always liked Dinwiddie but he's a poor 3 pt shooter. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson would be THE guy to get. Joe Harris is up and coming.
I thought things were bad enough at the end of last season. Never in my imagination did I expect the sh/t-show I'm seeing now.
There might be a wonderful new beginning to arise from these ashes. Let's hope so.
There really is no reason to believe he'd be a good coach. • All the talk a few years back was David Adelman was the super respected coach’s son and Ryan was Flip’s kid. • His "analytics software" company looks basic as hell. It appears to simply be clicking on a court where each player takes a shot and if they make them or not. • Listening to him speak, he inherited Flip’s lack of polish, but none of his charm. • He's never been a Head Coach or Lead Assistant at any level. The only reason he's even on the coaching staff is Taylor won't let him be fired. If his last name wasn't Saunders would you be remotely interested in him?
No reason to believe he'd be a good coach?? I disagree.
Grew up with basketball 24 hours a day. Played 4 years Big Ten ball then was an assistant at Washington for 5 years until he came here.
The only thing he has going against him is his personality or lack of it. Wet mop like. That's a shame. That's what we see. From what I've heard the players like and more importantly respect him.

I wouldn't be surprised if Scott Roth is coaching this team in two weeks. I forgot about our Iowa G league coach. Scott Roth works for me.

Knicks get out of a horrid contract to add a superstar now and a superstar later I think they are high on Knox and he can't be traded until December. A Ntilikina and Courtney Lee package would not be that bad of an outcome. It would disappoint a lot of people but I think it will be tough to get a large return. We are also restricted with rookie's and guys who signed new deals not being eligible to trade until December 15th in the present situation. I think we'll be staring at packages like this: Clippers (SGA not available to be dealt until December 15) Choice of Galinari or Tobias Harris and a 1st rounder with limited protections. Nets - Levert/Rondae Hollis Jefferson and Allen Crabbe or D'Angelo Russell and Demarre Carroll Knicks (Knox not available to be dealt until December 15) - Frankie and Lee??? Maybe you squeeze a protected 1st out of the Nets or Knicks. If I could get RHJ and Levert in a deal, I do that in seconds. I think they are both legit starters in the league who could thrive playing off of the present roster in the right situation (i.e. Thibs is not the coach). I would take a swing on Fultz if he was put out there. Middleton too.

A Butler/Dieng for Noah/Lee/Ntilinka/1st rounder deal would probably a reasonably strong return at this point.
I also would take Crabbe or Carroll and an unprotected 1st.
We need a first rounder at this point. Those damn things are assets.

Best idea I've heard is getting Otto Porter Jr.
His age matches up better with Towns, Wiggs and a Wall, Beal, Butler core could contend for east.
Butler and Patton for Otto works.

We are going to have to trade Butler for multiple parts to field a roster next year that has depth. Otto isn't bad but I think we would have 8 rostered players and would be over the luxury tax. Finding a way to get out from Dieng is a wild card in this situation but I don't know if the Nets would be willing to do that as it could cost them Kyrie. Maybe the Knicks would though.

He played 39 total minutes! Would you be the slightest bit interested in him if he had the exact same career but was Ryan Johansen from Aimes, Iowa?

To get a player of Butler's caliber and maybe Kyrie coming over a year later might make them jump at this.

The more I think about a Knicks deal, the more I could get behind it. I loved Ntilikina in the draft.
Frank really struggled on offense last year, but for a 19 year-old rookie in a new country, he was far from overwhelmed. He was a positive defender - which is rare for ANY rookie and showed a decent floor game. He was probably better than Giannis or Gobert as rookies (as both of them were borderline unplayable - and Gobert was 2 years older than Frank).
He's also grown 1.5 inches and put on close to 20 pounds of muscle. He doesn't look like a kid anymore.
With his height and length, you could play him some solid minutes next to Tyus.

Adrian Wojnarowski@wojespn 11m11 minutes ago Minnesota's Jimmy Butler is most determined to find a way to the Los Angeles Clippers, league sources tell ESPN. The appeal of partnering with a second star - the Clippers have two max contract slots available in summer free agency - is an intriguing scenario for him.

You guys, I haven’t been this excited to be a Timberwolves fan since the day before Sam was fired abruptly. This trade can’t happen fast enough.

Most of the scenario's I'm seeing brought up are for the teams that Jimmy said he'd sign an extension with next summer. F**k that! The wolves need to shop him to any team that may be interested and take the best offer.
Per Rahchills...I'm honestly more excited for the season also now. I think the team will gel better without the 2 cancers: Thibs and Butler. This has to be the end of Thibs either now, middle of the year or by the end of the year for sure. Thats a win. I wasnt thrilled with paying Butler the max anyway with his Thibs miles on him and his attitude.

I’m seeing rumors on Twitter that Butler slept with KAT’s girlfriend back in May... That would explain a lot. Any truth to it?

I have no real interest in anything in LA other than Shai Gilgeous but I would probably take Frank over him and the expiring contract of Lee. I would definitely take a package that centered around Levert as well. Shai not being able to be dealt right away would make me run from the Clippers. This needs to happen between now and mid-October.
